Like many of us I started collecting when I was a kid and around the mid 70's started buying proof sets from the Mint, my dad would order them for me and I would stash them away with the plan to sell them in a few years for huge profits.
Fast forward to today and I have a couple of boxes of proof sets that well, are worth about what I paid for them 40+ years ago. I decided to start sorting through them to sell on eBay (they don't sell well on the BST!) and ran across the coin below. This set I have had for 40 years and never looked at it. Finding this is a highlights of my numismatic endeavors as 1) Exciting to find and 2) Validates my investment theory when I was younger!

The one thing that would make your find better would be having your 1983 no S dime be one minted in 1975

The only variety of note that I ever found in a proof set was a 1960 large date over small date Lincoln Cent.

I know this sounds improbable but it is true....I went through my boxes and out of the 3 1983 Proof sets I found 2 have no MM dimes. I am buying a lottery ticket today also!
