50 or 53. My original thought was 53.

    1. One of those coins I’d be happy to own no matter what the holder says.

I would say AU53, looks like it has plenty of luster left!

When I first looked at it, I thought there were two different coins. The larger more colorful image looked like a 55-58 and the smaller image looked like a 45. When I realized they were both the same coin, I blended the two images and came up with 50-53!
There was certainly more detail appearing in the larger more colorful image than the smaller one....am I the only one who thought this?

Luster of a 55. Detail of 53. I think PCGS gave it a 53. Very nice, and yes, CircCam, 113a (or by the new BHNC classification 113.1)

Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't love to look at a pretty bust.

I based my guess off the first image. Had I only had the last images I would have guessed lower. The first image shows some real nice luster.

I'm not seeing that at all. What areas of the coin look "messed with" to you and in what way?

    I like it as a 53 but 50 wouldn't surprise me.

Fun die marriage! Gotta love those arrowheads.

Wear. That's not strike weakness we are seeing.

Actually it's a combo of soft strike and light wear. I call it a solid 50 but wouldn't be surprised to see a 55 to 58 label on the holder. Edit to add that this piece has die polishing lines for days.

Hmm interesting. I would like to hear what physical attributes make that wear from your perspective.

That is strike weakness you are seeing. Look at the weak spots in the hair on the obverse, and on the reverse the shield lines, eagle's claw, arrowheads etc. Also, what 45 has this kind of luster? This is easily an AU coin.

I clearly stated IMHO, lets see what unfolds here, in this GTG, as I am def not the final say, merely an opinion.

XF 45 + with gold CAC sticker in PCGS holder , AU 50 with green CAC sticker in PCGS holder, AU 53 in PCGS holder, no sticker, or Bust ( pun) in Gennie.
