Very terrible news. I talked with him over the years. Incredibly knowledgeable and a very sweet guy with a cutting sense of humor. We did a coin deal a few years ago and in that deal I obtained a wonderful cool token that I will always hold on to. He will surely be missed around these parts. A sad day in deed.

Like everyone else on this thread, I am deeply saddened by this news. He was a great sounding board and incredibly knowledgeable, I never got to meet up in person but he was always quick to reply to PMs. One of his many collecting passions was modern proof errors. Truly a big loss to the hobby, my sincerest condolences to his family.

This is of course horrible, he was 53 for christs sake! Tomorrow is never guaranteed, if you have a bucket list drop everything and do it. Do you know how long the average police officer lives after he retires? FIVE YEARS! I have been very lucky to have a spouse who allowed me to do multiple high risk activities and major travel.

Terrible. Very sorry to read this. Prayers go out to his family and friends. He looks fairly young in the pic with his son - that makes my heart hurt.

I am a newer collector (started April 2020), and I primarily focus on U.S. Half Cents and Type Coins. Early copper is my favorite.

He was a great forum member. I can remember him, since the day I started posting, both here and ATS.

    Far far too young….
