3 new “PCGS” fakes from China and their current certs…

burfle23burfle23 Posts: 2,674 ✭✭✭✭✭

I haven’t seen these three on the internet yet:

The ’45-O’s cert is nonsense:

The ’84-CC active with a TrueView:

And the ’89-CC also active with a TrueView:

Just a matter of time before we see these in droves…
Best, Jack.

I wonder how much money is being lost by collectors buying these? Also, just think of how much money is being diverted from the purchase of real collector coins every time one of these is being sold.

    All glory is fleeting.

The problem is "much" bigger then this! This is just low "very low" hanging fruit.

I actually purchased these direct; I am trying to get images of all of their "varieties" to post in as many venues as I can showing these threats to the Hobby...

Does the 89 CC have the tell tale markings that you wrote about in earlier post re fakes of this date? It pays to know your source when buying coins, and have someone who knows more than you look at them before purchase. Think of this as an insurance policy of sorts.

Thank you for the work you are doing, providing valuable education on this subject and reminding us to not let our guard down.

Fortunately, most of the counterfeits are not perfect and there are still ways to differentiate. The trick is, how to educate without tipping off the counterfeiters.
