    agree. make it right.

I am a newer collector (started April 2020), and I primarily focus on U.S. Half Cents and Type Coins. Early copper is my favorite.

    Sad, but not surprising.

I would only accept those terms if payment was due upon receipt or there was an acceptable discount to assume the risk of failure to deliver by the USPS.

I've only ever had one issue with USPS delivery on something that I purchased. The seller put in the wrong zip and it caused a delay of 2 weeks. It did have me concerned since it was an 1889 CC Morgan, at one point the tracking info said that it had been picked up at the post office and the seller felt like he had no responsibility to figure out what was going on.

I'm glad that I've only had good to great transactions with forum members here. There was a scare when I purchased 30 Buffalo nickels from Ron Pope. The USPS said it was delivered and I hadn't received them. Ron had mistakenly put the wrong street name on the box. I inquired at the post office and they said they didn't have the package. The street he put is in a different ZIP code. There are at least 3 ZIP codes in my city. I checked back with the post master the next day and she found the box. The USPS had changed the ZIP code on it and covered the barcodes. If I wasn't persistent with the PO I may not have gotten them. So glad that I did because a short while afterwards Ron passed away. He was such a nice person.

I’m assuming silverpop will never post anything on the BST again because every time (s)he does someone here will post the information we learned here.

Big thanks to @ponderit for alerting everyone here of the unfortunate misconduct of @silverpop .

It’s so bizarre (s)he is willing to burn sooo many bridges just because (s)he can’t admit (s)he is wrong and do the right thing.

True that many there are here too, but not all. You could post a link to this drama to warn anyone there, unless it might lead to you being banned.

I would have posted the OG post about the problem in his FS post but you cannot reply to a FS post on CT.

Ya, I don't think I would ever buy anything under those terms. When I sell something either ebay or here, I make sure package was delivered and buyer is happy! Then I spend the money. Lol

Ponderit, do you have an email associated with Paypal? Send it by PM. I'd like to pitch in $5 to help you recoup some of your losses.

There have been multiple problems with Colin previously on the BST. The way he lists his coins for sale is rather unique and he’s a poor communicator who doesn’t respond to PM’s in a timely manner. I would completely avoid him. I’d also be very careful buying from a newbie who is selling high priced coins. The BST is a great place in general but we have had a few problems over the years. Do your homework and if you’re uncomfortable pass.

Maybe the PCGS staff should consider a pinned post at the top of the BST section where members can warn other members of deals gone wrong and the other participant in the deal. This thread and the other are good but will die soon enough and the forum search feature is not very good. @HeatherBoyd

Colin, AKA "Brian" never has used punctuation in anything he posts. That, and his status as an irresponsible ripoff artist are the two things I'm sure of about him.

Conceptually, I agree with it, but practically, I doubt it would work.

    • Open for abuse (people get shorts in a bunch, put something there and never remove it even though it gets worked out or was a miscommunication, or the buyer was just pissy, etc)
    • PCGS has stated over and over they don't do anything for the buying/selling other than hose the forum. Caveat Emptor type of thing. Even a pinned post that they don't do anything else with could put them in the "managing the BST" view.
    • Before entering into a new/questionable deal with someone, people should search, or ask others, and do some due diligence. Doesn't always work. Likely wouldn't have worked in this case, but better than nothing.

There are other things too, but the first 2 bullet points are what seem to be stoppers, to me.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
