nevermind not worth the trouble of getting into a debate with people over the past

agree. make it right.
I am a newer collector (started April 2020), and I primarily focus on U.S. Half Cents and Type Coins. Early copper is my favorite.
Girl don't go away mad, just go away!
The past??
Sorry, it's still very much in the present.

He's created a new post, probably to negate the stink of the original. In order to make sure this stays out there, here's my follow-up to all that is going on in the original. No one should have to deal with him:
Thank you all, except for Colin, aka. silverpop, of course.
I saw this coming a couple of weeks ago when I had no response from him. The whole thing seemed slimy and less than above-board.
Since my post on Wednesday several members have PM'd me to say that they've had similar experiences with this guy. I hope he can really use the $110, maybe it'll make his life better. Heck, he may have even used it buy the Morgan, hope it makes him happy.
For all the sellers I've dealt with in the past and recently, besides Colin Dickerson of course, thank you. You've helped me increase the value and desirability of by collection and for that I'll be forever grateful; not to mention the education you've given me, The CBH's (Lance, Dave and Todd), and the Buff Nicks (Joe) have all added to my love of the hobby.
I've never run into another Colin but will be more judicious with who I deal with in the future. This was a trainwreck and I hope this true, Karma Is a Bitch,
Thank to all, except this particular "seller".

Thought this spoof on some of the dunce, loser quote trolls here lol.
Just dropping this here.

The guys on CoinTalk aren't dummies.
They either have him already figured out or soon will.

well, at least in this post he is upfront that buyer takes risk of damaged/lost packages. Sellers have a right to put that in their terms and buyers have the option to pass or assume the risk..
I would only accept those terms if payment was due upon receipt or there was an acceptable discount to assume the risk of failure to deliver by the USPS.
I've only ever had one issue with USPS delivery on something that I purchased. The seller put in the wrong zip and it caused a delay of 2 weeks. It did have me concerned since it was an 1889 CC Morgan, at one point the tracking info said that it had been picked up at the post office and the seller felt like he had no responsibility to figure out what was going on.
The takeaway from these discussions is the question as to why silverpop didn't accept Paypal is now answered.

I'm glad that I've only had good to great transactions with forum members here. There was a scare when I purchased 30 Buffalo nickels from Ron Pope. The USPS said it was delivered and I hadn't received them. Ron had mistakenly put the wrong street name on the box. I inquired at the post office and they said they didn't have the package. The street he put is in a different ZIP code. There are at least 3 ZIP codes in my city. I checked back with the post master the next day and she found the box. The USPS had changed the ZIP code on it and covered the barcodes. If I wasn't persistent with the PO I may not have gotten them. So glad that I did because a short while afterwards Ron passed away. He was such a nice person.

I’m assuming silverpop will never post anything on the BST again because every time (s)he does someone here will post the information we learned here.

Big thanks to @ponderit for alerting everyone here of the unfortunate misconduct of @silverpop .
It’s so bizarre (s)he is willing to burn sooo many bridges just because (s)he can’t admit (s)he is wrong and do the right thing.

True that many there are here too, but not all. You could post a link to this drama to warn anyone there, unless it might lead to you being banned.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Why would anyone accept those terms?
I would have posted the OG post about the problem in his FS post but you cannot reply to a FS post on CT.
He calls it a "legal disclaimer", which it isn't. He doesn't even offer the option of insurance. He requires payments that can't be reversed by the buyer.
Disgusting.
Ya, I don't think I would ever buy anything under those terms. When I sell something either ebay or here, I make sure package was delivered and buyer is happy! Then I spend the money. Lol

Ponderit, do you have an email associated with Paypal? Send it by PM. I'd like to pitch in $5 to help you recoup some of your losses.

My Jefferson Nickel Collection
Hi Leo, I truly appreciate your offer but I'll respectfully decline. I'm OK, out a few dollars but it's not going to break me. My goal was to call attention to this seller so no one else may go through what I did, it was truly frustrating. When I saw his post showing his new Morgan purchase I had to finally speak up on the forum.
To all of you who have been supportive, thank you as well. I didn't expect the 2 threads to get all this attention but I'm glad that they have. We're all in this together and 99.99% of the folks here are truly stand-up people.
Thanks, Bill
There have been multiple problems with Colin previously on the BST. The way he lists his coins for sale is rather unique and he’s a poor communicator who doesn’t respond to PM’s in a timely manner. I would completely avoid him. I’d also be very careful buying from a newbie who is selling high priced coins. The BST is a great place in general but we have had a few problems over the years. Do your homework and if you’re uncomfortable pass.
Maybe the PCGS staff should consider a pinned post at the top of the BST section where members can warn other members of deals gone wrong and the other participant in the deal. This thread and the other are good but will die soon enough and the forum search feature is not very good. @HeatherBoyd

Bump😊
Colin, AKA "Brian" never has used punctuation in anything he posts. That, and his status as an irresponsible ripoff artist are the two things I'm sure of about him.
Conceptually, I agree with it, but practically, I doubt it would work.
There are other things too, but the first 2 bullet points are what seem to be stoppers, to me.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
Buyers can also insist on using PayPal. I always insist on PP and offer to pay a 3% premium when it is someone I don't know.
I’ve been here a long time.. I don’t know coins as well as most of you.
But I know people, fairly well.
There’s something wrong with silverpop. I have five letters after my (real) name, and they’re legit. Hard earned.
I don’t know what’s wrong with him, but it’s painful to watch.
He’s never going to grow up- I don’t think he’s capable of that.
I feel badly for the buyer, but I’m guessing he can afford the loss. That doesn’t make what silverpop did right.
But the buyer knows he did nothing wrong.
Silverpop did something wrong, and he doesn’t even realize it.
Colin, I’d say grow up, but Im doubtful you ever will. I don’t know if you’re capable of that.
It’s not the past. The buyer hasn’t gotten his coin.
Time for some elevator music.
