    For some reason, I immediately thought "en guarde" as if it were an epee extended.

    It's not a half and it's not EAC but you should remedy that situation!

    @POCKETCHANGE: thanks for your kudos! One of my collector friends tells me 58+ is the current “hot” & coveted grade. Maybe as good as a 62 even. Love the crack!

    Yes, I actually once sent it to PCGS for a “plus only” Reconsideration. It didn’t upgrade but I might keep trying as it’s a very scarce grade for this series in general, not to mention with a CAC sticker.

    I hope to find one of these in circulation someday. If I did, it would be the oldest coin I have found. :p

    It's in an old PCI green label slab. It's on it's way to our host for grading and off to auction.

    Unfortunately my recently submitted 1857 Flying Eagle cent came back Genuine :(
