this looks as fake as can be

The seller ended the auction as I was typing this... and it's a 1921-P of all things:
When in doubt, don't.

Reholdered I bet it would be a 66.
Type collector, mainly into Seated. -formerly Ownerofawheatiehorde. Good BST transactions with: mirabela, OKCC, MICHAELDIXON, Gerard
I bet it would be body-bagged.

Yep that one was fake and the seller has a couple of other fakes listed that need to be removed.

I like the random "knick" on the eagles breast feathers.
Wait 'till you also discover the "PCGS" 1872 Seated dollar and the 1913-S Barber half he is selling are also fakes (in counterfeit slabs). . .

Bogus for sure
Love the date on the posted '21; actually shows sold...
The seller just added another counterfeit coin listing.
This seller is going to be a problem!

The cert for the '13 has no image but is for a '13-D:
The 1872$ has an image, and well...
All reported.
Sold this gem as well:
I am the current high bidder on the "13

So say someone win a listing. Got the coin and charge back from eBay. Keep the coin because it's a counterfeit and against the law to sell.
Sounds like a plan to hit this seller in the wallet.

1921 obverse and reverse of 1879 don't mix.
Talk about going out of your way to counterfeit a sow’s ear! The 1921 Morgan used to be the red headed step child of the Morgan Dollar series. Dealers used to specify that they didn’t want them. The 2021 Morgan Dollars have changed that to a degree. Still, this is a pretty stupid counterfeit creation in my opinion.
Listing gone... but looks like that seller has more fakes and is shotgunning ebay with them. Guess he figures if some get through he is ahead of the game. Cheers, RickO
Should receive the Gold POS seller award...
Also had this bad 1881-CC in sold listings:
He sold this rarity yesterday......

Can't always protect sellers from themselves...
I wonder if someone actually did buy that 1919 cent for $1,000 that is worth about 10 cents? If so, we have a new candidate for the more money than brains designation.
We are back to the bad old days of the 1970s when people were desperate to buy "things" because of inflation.
This was a reply taken from a different thread that I didn't want to derail, so I figure we can continue the discussion here which is the thread I would have referenced for the reply.
I agree Mason, automation is never going to perfect, but at what point can Ebay task a human being with a brain to review listing or a seller, and take the appropriate action? How many flags does it take? We reported and removed about 5 counterfeits in this thread alone, not to mention the other counterfeits that this seller sold successfully in the past. Here we are, 2 weeks later, and their account is alive and well.

Unsatisfactory (I'm guessing) response: Everybody is going to have a different answer. eBay sells a million different kinds of things. There is no way for them to have specialists to review/approve listings for all those items they never have in hand to inspect.
I don't know.
eBay does remove listings, it's verifiable by clicking the links to many listings that are posted here. Somehow, it never seems to be good enough or fast enough or...
I don't work for eBay. I haven't the first clue what they're doing (or not doing) about it.
I received an email from NGC where they are in litigation over someone selling fake NGC things. I would like if PCGS would go after these sellers
Fair enough, but imo just removing listings is unsatisfactory. A lot more can be accomplished if they would take action with repeat problem sellers. When I see sellers like this have their account deactivated, I will concede that eBay is “trying”.
This is going to have to be my last reply on the subject though, this is my 999th post and I have something a little more significant planned for my 1000. Talk soon.

I don't know what they're doing behind the scenes. Do you?
It’s not known what’s being done behind the scenes. But it is known that many sellers who have listed multiple counterfeits (some of the sales of which have been nuked) have been allowed to keep selling for long periods of time.

I don't dispute this. I also don't know what (if anything) is being done about it. What do you think I should do? Stop buying on eBay? Stop selling there? Or...?

I recall some people maintaining a shared blacklist or something similar.
Report to ACEF/Anti-counterfeiting Task Force. From what I understand, they've caused more trouble for people selling counterfeits on eBay than the inconvenience of having a listing temporarily disappear.

Had this one as well; definitely one to watch...
I have reported several to the ACEF and at least one ebay member was banned several weeks later.
This seller had quite a few active listings and a whole bunch of sold listings so it was easy to see a pattern.
