Problems with deliveries from Heritage Auctions?
Won a couple items on 2/2 and still waiting for the Fedex Priority Overnight delivery. Won another item on 2/9 and was delivered by USPS Priority today. Anyone else having problems with HA?

I won an item on 2/14 from Heritage.
Paid in full the next day.
The shipping charge cost was $20.00.
No notification as of yet on a shipping date but they state on their site that it could take between 7-14 days so I am not worried.
I have dealt many times with them and have had no problems.
Best of luck.

WayneI have dealt with them several times as well, and this is the first time I have had an issue. Just seems odd to be charged for Fedex overnight and a follow-on order with slowing shipping arrives first.

If the coin was not on the Dallas premises, but at another site, they say that it could take much longer.
You could give them a call on Monday to set your mind at ease.

My policy when I win coins at Heritage is to try and forget that I won them so that I’ll have a nice surprise when they actually ship.
Takes awhile but they’ve always made it. That is odd about the overnight shipping though- probably worth a phone call as mentioned.

I have only called a couple times and that is when it was delayed beyond the normal (which depends on auction and amount for me). The couple times the hold was very brief and the agent asked for customer number and then gave me the information on shipping and estimate of when. The number I called was in the email but here is one on a HA receipt.

I love their auctions, but I grade their shipping department "D minus." After 11 days, I get only a tracking number and the post office is still waiting to receive the package.
Like the other member stated, you just have to try and forget about the order for a while. They really do a horrible job getting it in the mail in a timely mannerDead Cat Waltz Exonumia

They have excellent customer service until it's time to ship. Coins do eventually arrive.

two to 4 weeks wait before shipment is normal for HA. I have one order shipped this week that was purchased on 1/29. Don't worry you will get it.

I think there’s been quite a few posts/responses in recent years to say heritage is probably the worst auction house in terms of customer service, shipping, accuracy, fee structure, etc. I’m still wondering why they have repeat customers?

I just received two lots from last December, about 7 weeks.

I've won coins in three separate weekly auctions since Christmas, and the shipping has been a bit slower than in the past. The first two took 16 and 13 days to get to me via USPS, while the last took 12 days via UPS.
Normally, stuff takes about one week to get to me, as I live in Texas.

I just checked and they have positions open for 'shipping associate'. But it covers more than I imagined ... they are growing company with auctions in 40 categories. This position also involves receiving as well as shipping. I am sure you would have a couple seconds to see cool stuff every day.

There have been quite a few complaints about Heritage's shipping. I have personally received some lots before I even paid the invoice.
Unless you need to sell your lots right away (like a dealer, but they usually pick up their lots in person immediately following the auction), what difference does it make if you receive them in one week or three? These complaints seem trivial.

I generally agree with you. But, I did buy 2 bullion coins from them. Between the hammer and arrival, gold went up $100 and down $100.

Many people want their coin soon once they have paid for it. They want to enjoy the coin in hand while the impulse to buy is still hot. You can't demand payment in two weeks while ship the coin in couple weeks after the payment. it just not sound right. On eBay even if I ship early or on time but USPS did not update the tracking on time eBay will count that as my later shipment rate. LOL

To me, it's not a "problem with deliveries," it's just remarkably slow times from payment to shipping. They do eventually ship, and the shipment does arrive.
I only look in at HA when I have been looking for a long time for a particular coin in a particular condition; otherwise, I like rewarding places that do me the courtesy of shipping in a reasonable amount of time.

I understand that some may be confused and think I am complaining about Heritages slow shipping. Here is a breakdown below of the tracking on this order. I paid on 2/2/23:

I once sold a coin on but when I told the buyer that I can't ship it right away because HA haven't ship the coin to me yet. The buyer asked to cancel the sale.

It happened all the time. I sold coins while the consigner is sending it to me or the consigner will mail it instead of me mailing it out. Sometime I bid for the buyer and the buyer wants the coin soon. I paid for the coin so the coin is belong to me and I can sell it as I want.

Have you buy from Amazon before? You know how fast they ship? Even eBay push for fast shipping. If your handling time is long then eBay will put your item at the end of the search. Fast shipping is part of customers satisfaction.

What did Heritage say about the package that has not shipped after 21 days?
P.S. just to add, it looks like your post states the one that has shipped through FedEx is missing after 21 days. What did Heritage say about your auction wins from a month ago that have not even shipped yet?
Surely they have to have some explanation?
0 -
Every time I tried to get help from heritage on missing packages and missing coins from the auctions (items that never shipped), all I ever heard from them is “we have to open an investigation”, then after no follow up in a week they say “we have to open a new investigation with a different department”, then repeat that in a week.
They don’t help the customers, they appear to chase their tail and never get anything solved. Think they came up with some excuse about how I only have 30 days from the auction close to get any issues resolved, but if it takes 2-4 weeks to ship, and then countless weeks of “investigations” that go nowhere, they try to skate around their own problems.
I think filing complaints with the BBB might be a step we all need to begin with that company. Just too many questionable business practices going on there.

I got my most recent lot within 4 days. This has been my typical experience when the lots are in Dallas at the time of the auction. Longer when the lots have to be shipped back to Dallas, but never had any issues.

I've never had any problems with Heritage. Occasionally, there is a shipping delay but we all know that. The only time I had a delivery problem (out of hundreds of shipments), they fixed it in 48 hours.

Heritage probably ships thousands of packages every week.
Odds are that sometimes, stuff happens.

The only issue I ever had with Heritage was once they shipped me the wrong lot. Of course, they were more than happy to resolve the issue, at their expense.

I have never experienced any difficulties receiving packages from Heritage; nothing has ever been lost or took overly long to arrive.
The only issue - and it barely rises above the level of mere inconvenience - it that their packages invariably arrive on Saturday afternoon when I am often not at home to sign for them.

Bought a few coins in a single auction last year. After about 3 MONTHS they FINALLY agreed that the shipment was lost. Too bad, they were really nice coins out of my norm. They say everything's bigger in Texas, I guess so is the waiting time as well? By the way, the last report was the coins were going to a location in Texas. Maybe Texas was too far to go or too big to locate the post office? I guess that's what I get for trying to expand my horizons. Plus it took about two weeks after that to get the refund.
You only live life once, enjoy it like it's your last day. It just MIGHT be!

I have had a recent weird experience with them. They sent me my winnings and we immediately cracked a couple out per customer request, and sent them out along their way (common practice for us). About 10 days later, Heritage told me that one of the coins I received had inadvertently been switched for a somewhat higher valued example (like double). Unfortunately, due to circumstances too complicated to explain in detail, I had no way to view what we'd received and already shipped nor are pics possible (again.... long story). So Heritage has compelled me to pay for BOTH coins and is shipping "the other coin" to me as well.
I am just trying to be the good citizen here and until I actually receive "the other coin", I won't know for sure whether this is a loss for me, or break-even.
All this being said, generally we've had no issues at all with Heritage shipments and order accuracy except for this incident.

@OldeTowneCoinShoppe - Well now you've piqued my curiosity with that cliffhanger... So what do you plan to do one the "other" coin (which if I understand correctly, was the original coin you bid on), now that you already gave your client the higher value one? And did you have to pay a retail price for the one they convinced you to buy, or did they offer a wholesale rate?

Legally, I'm not sure you are under any obligation to buy the second coin. I'm not even sure that you are required to return the first coin. [Although ethically, you should if you could. ] I'm rather surprised that Heritage didn't just eat the loss.
I can understand Heritage trying to recover the coin for whomever the other buyer was. But making you buy 2 coins because of their error is rather surprising to me.

The one from 21 days ago finally shipped. The other packages still floating in the Fed Ex cloud. I'm now told by Heritage Auctions it's all my fault, because I asked that the packages be held at a Fed Ex office close to my work, since I'm not home all day to receive packages. They said they will ONLY ALLOW packages delivered to the house. Unbeknownst to me, since Fed Ex accepted the request and I've done this with packages for 40 years. Very well. So if Fed Ex and Heritage won't allow me to pick up the package at a Fed Ex facility, WHY hasn't it been sent back to HA for redirection? Does Fed Ex just get to keep stuff? With a multi-million dollar shipping contract, does HA have no power to resolve this? Fortunately I pay all my auctions with a Credit Card, and Chase Bank will open a case in 60 days and refund my money if I haven't received the packages. Heritage hasn't even broached the subject of a possible refund.FedEx is just...i won't say it.
I had a FedEx coin package arrive last week. I tried to have it held but sure to the required signature, FedEx wouldn't allow the change. Instead, they left out on my front steps without a signature. Lol.

UPDATE::: Received 2 of my 3 packages from Heritage Auctions today, so pretty confident now the 3rd will find it's way to me. Had great response from the rep, and even a VP who saw my post took an interest and reached out--you don't see that from many auction houses. I would definitely suggest checking with any place you purchase from BEFORE you attempt redirection or package hold. I called a couple of my other ones and they pretty much have similiar procedures. Two thumbs back up for Heritage!

Some of the tracking history from one HA package I'm still waiting for. Tell me I should have any reasonable hope of ever seeing it. I get that it's Fed Ex. But I bought from HA, and they are ultimately responsible. And Heritage will make good on it. But you can't blame them for FedEx and you also can't blame them for waiting for FedEx to sort it out

I am old guy from a small town ... so I can get confused easily. Were these TPG pieces? Did you not check the pieces that you received against the coins on your winning bid list against their packing list/invoice before you cracked them out? Just thinking!

Sorry it took me so long to update.... basically, we ended up buying both coins from Heritage. I don't really have a problem with this, because it's our own fault that we didn't really take a good look at the coin(s) as they came in, and hurriedly shipped it out without due diligence.
That being said, we'll likely take a loss, or at best break-even with our customer since obviously, we marked the coin up based on the lesser amount originally paid (10% markup, in case you're wondering).
Luckily, these are coins in the hundreds-of-dollars range, not thousands. So when the dust settles, it'll be best to chalk it up to experience.

Have had great service although I once received the wrong lot - a higher dollar coin by 3X. Being in Dallas I arranged to exchange in person. Only complaint is they never apologized and acted as if I had done something wrong. No gratitude for my honestly and trouble. Very odd.
