Thank you very much for your concern! The main thing was just me going through a less coin centric period of my life. I still VERY MUCH enjoy them, I've just haven't been on the Boards nearly as much.
Also, the last 3 months of 2022 sucked for me health-wise in a variety of weird freak ways that synergistically slowed down my looking at the Boards. For example, I got covid in mid-October, and while the disease as disease didn't particularly affect me any worse than a standard flu, I had a pre-existing seasonal lung issue. For some reason covid REALLY fired that up, and I was doing hard prolonged coughing lasting for 4 - 5 days that lead to, of all things, a double hernia. There were some other weird health things in the latter three months of 2022, such as a freak accident in November 2022, blowing out my left knee ACL/MCL. Ah, the joys of getting older!
I had hernia surgery in very early January, and my left knee surgery is scheduled for next week. I'm hoping these are the last surgeries I have this year! I'm hoping that the start of Chinese New Year/Tet, 1/22/23, leads to a much healthier New Year.

Well hopefully you have all the bad behind you. I had my double hernia surgery a few yrs ago. Lol They do wonders with knees now. I may be looking to have my right knee done this yr. Austeoarthritus and no cartilage left kind of makes it hard to walk on sometimes. Lol Best of luck on your surgery my friend!

You’re not alone on those covid hernias though. My brother in law went through the same thing.

Do some research on your scope. I had a couple Meades in the past and they just don't hold up over time. I now have an 8" Celestron and a 4" Celestron C90. Both are great. I bought a tripod for the 4" which has it's own built-in gps and works with an app on your phone. We just bought a new house so hopefully to unpack them and use them soon.

Sounds like a horrible few months. Good luck with the ACL. The surgery isn’t so horrible, but the recovery is a ton of work and takes a while. Hernias - had that one many years ago. Not so fun either.

In late 2022 Skyman sent me a PM. He mentioned having Covid. I sent him a PM in late 2023 and have not heard from him. I do know that he was shifting his collecting efforts more to space memorabilia and away from coins.
It would be nice to hear from him again.

As mentioned, I have switched mainly to collecting space memorabilia these days, so I haven't been on these boards in a while.
I still enjoy looking at coins, I just haven't been purchasing any. I am at the stage where I'm thinking of selling off a lot of my collection.

Here's a Washie for those that like Washingtons.
The Gemini Program (1965-66) is probably my favorite program of the early US manned spaceflight programs (1961 - 1975): Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, Skylab and Apollo-Soyuz Test Program (ASTP). Mercury was basically to see if humans could survive in space, Apollo landed on the Moon, Skylab was America's first space station, and ASTP was a political one-off to rendezvous US and Soviet spacecraft in orbit. Gemini was the program that put the US ahead of the USSR in the space race. Up until Gemini, the Soviets were first in all the important manned space objectives; first man in space, first multi-spacecraft flights, first woman in space, first spacewalk (EVA). Gemini was the program that taught the USA to DO all the important maneuvers necessary to land a man on the Moon, and in the process the USA did all the important remaining manned space firsts; first change of orbit, first rendezvous, first docking two spacecraft together, first to do tasks when doing an EVA, first planned creation of artificial gravity while in orbit. Aside from actually landing on the Moon, Gemini taught the USA all the tasks necessary for Apollo 11 to land.
Here's my most recent fairly valuable space purchase. It's an 8" x 10" picture mosaic of Gemini Program mission highlights. There were 10 manned Gemini missions flown. The space inside the capsule was roughly the same size as the front seats of a VW Bug of the same era. Each mission had 2 crew members. While there were 20 "seats" on the flown missions, 4 astronauts flew twice, so a total of 16 astronauts flew. Two (Gus Grissom and Ed White) of the 16 Gemini astronauts were killed in the Apollo 1 fire, within roughly two months of the end of the Gemini program. This picture has ALL 14 signatures of the Gemini crew members who were alive after the Apollo 1 fire. I've never seen anything else like it. In the upper left corner is the most famous of all the astronauts who flew in Gemini (although he didn't become THAT famous until Apollo 11), Neil Armstrong. Then you have Jim Lovell, Wally Schirra, Buzz Aldrin, Dave Scott, Tom Stafford, Frank Borman, Charles (Pete) Conrad, Jim McDivitt, Gordo Cooper, Michael Collins, Dick Gordon, Gene Cernan and John Young.

I remember buying the Revell(?) Gemini space capsule model kit. Had fun assembling it way back when.
