These are 1910-D Barber dimes. According to Jeff Ambio's "Barber Dime" book, the 1910-D is one of the most consistently unattractive issues in the entire Barber dime series. : ) Ignore the price of either.

Which would you rather have? Both are CAC

    Based on the images, I voted for the 64, but the Trueview of the 65 looks better than the OP photo of it. If I saw both coins in-hand, my answer might be different.

    +1 for everything Tom said. Pictures are not good enough to really dissect the coins but from those images I like the 64 better

    Based on what I can see from here, the MS64. I don't know what I'd choose if I had the coins in hand.

    I insist upon seeng the reverses and knowing the price for each coin, before making my selection.
    On the other hand, if you’re goi going to give me the one of my choice, I’ll take the MS65, as I could sell it for a higher price, if I didn’t want to keep it.😉

    I voted the 64, but would love to see the TV.

    Looking at the TV, the toning on the MS65 is not terrible but not appealing either.

    I like the higher grade MS65

    The 65 has more of an 'original' look to my eyes. Both are quite nice.

    I went with the 65 for 3 reasons. One is that both images are blurry and with different lighting so I can’t accurately judge the eye appeal. The 2nd is that the 65 has a higher grade. The 3rd reason is that I prefer darker skin on barber dimes since so many of them that I’ve seen were obviously cleaned.

    Neither are what I would consider show stoppers. Based on appearance the 64 is nicer. The 65 just doesn’t do it for me.

    It’s crazy the number of high grade coins I see, including gold, that I consider junk/melt from an eye appeal basis.

    Interesting comments; especially, from those who would pick the MS65 and immediately sell it. : )

    Here are the statistics from CAC - 1in MS64 @ $858 8 in MS65 @ $2,100 2 in MS66 @ $2,620

    Both coins have TrueViews which are actually quite different from the photos above.

    All of these pictures show how difficult it is to buy coins without being able to see them in hand.

    Personally, I'd try to find one of the two MS66s. : )

    After pulling at the TV for the 65, it looks exactly how I expected it to look based on the first photo. Can we have the other cert #?

    Based on the TrueViews of each, and not the photos in the OP, I'd take the 65.

    Just based off the photos in the OP, I'd probably have chosen the 64.

    I like the 64. The luster is less affected by the toning than it is on the 65. It just has more eye appeal, to my way of thinking.

    Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.
