Here's a thread where you can honor a photographer(s) who accurately captured the spirit, character, toning, etc of a coin, preferably of a coin you own. The goal of the thread is avoid glamor shots that really don't reflect what the coin looks like.

I took these photos. My only miss was messing up the lighting so it does not show it as FB…but it is. This coin just doesn’t have hits on it and I am happy to own it. I’ll walk it through PCGS at Winter FUN. Hopefully this meets the criteria of the thread.

What amazing coin pictures. I remember when the first pictures were posted on this forum, and everyone was impressed. Then people became better, with lights, equipment, technique. No comparison to the pictures here today. Real works of numismatic art. Cheers, RickO

I own a coin that was photographed by three different photographers. When I get home I'll put up the images. The difference between the three is interesting.

This was taken by Jermy @airplanenut many years ago, he is also very skilled. This template was provided by a forum member but I do not recall who off hand.

That's a very photogenic coin, which is a good trait to consider when buying a coin, since a photo will likely be integral in selling it.

Forumite Pedzola took these fantastic pics. The quarter and half eagles were coins I acquired from him a while back. The classic head is a coin that he generously offered to photograph for me.

Roughly one-third of my coins have either no True View (or suitable obverse and reverse photos) and/or not a slab shot. As such, I very recently arranged with @messydesk (John) to shoot several photos of each of these coins. I just received about 75 of the photo sets back, and they're fantastic! I'll be bringing him the remaining 67 or so to FUN for him to shoot.

Interesting too is I guess it's been in two holders, so the order in which they were taken is 3, 2, 1
As for the other two photographers, not sure, but all three are very good mages. My guess is the first is a little green, the TV a little red (typical) and the third a little blue. Best focus and angle for detail seems to be the first, by a hair.

Some great coins and photos here. I recently retook my icon coin, it really does look like this in hand. Circle cropping really does help, though out of the slab is the best, if possible.

In this case, I think Tom and I did a better job than PCGS, but I can show examples where the opposite is true too. Really, that they generate that kind of quality with the volume of coins they shoot is pretty impressive.
I shot this one tonight, reminds me of Christmas lights.
Here are a some of my own coins that I've shot recently. I have a lot of fun with coin photography, and its an important part of the hobby for me. I do a lot of looking back and forth to the coin in hand as I am doing the final editing.
