    The stuff works really well. You just smear it on and then rub it off in a circular pattern with a cloth. Usually just takes one pass to get the scratch out.

    Thank you! That one is a lettered edge, Cohen 1. It's in the lower end of the condition census for the variety. It was rated as #7 when I bought it about a decade ago. It was struck somewhen in the October to December period of 1795.

    Oddly enough, it's easier to get the lettered edge pieces in the higher grades than the plain edge varieties.

    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    I need to get the camera back out and take a few pics of my raw half cents soon. :) So many nice ones posted. I know it’s not as popular as a series as others but I always think they are pretty cool.

    One of the higher grade pieces in my collection. It's such a pretty coin that I used it for the cover of my Draped Bust Half Cent book.
