or

I think I prefer the top one. For the record it failed CAC, the bottom one has not been tried.

Spots bug me so I would go with 1.

Not really looking for much these days but if I were, it might be a toner.

The reverse on the 1st one stands out to me and pushes it over the top (I also think the spots on coin 2 make it less favorable compared to 1).

The top coin has a better strike on the rev and no spots. I like coin 1 better.

I much prefer the reverse of the top one, it has a better strike, tone and overall look than the second one's reverse, however...
I think the obverse of the second coin is a slightly stronger strike, and I like the coloring on it whereas the top one is a little more muted on the obverse...

If I was forced to choose, I'd probably go with the top one, but I would be very proud to own either one!! :)

1 is a better strike on both obverse and reverse, and it has better luster on the reverse. For me, those outweigh the tiny tick in the hair above the braid.

Just because a coin doesn't get a bean doesn't mean it's not a nice coin for the grade. I sincerely believe CAC has changed their criteria in the last three years re what gets a bean and what doesn't. Secondly, CAC agrees to make a bid on any coin in which it beans This may or may not influence their decision on what gets a bean or not.

1 is clearly superior however the obverse is a little dark for my taste.

They are both so nice I'd be proud to have either in my collection.
