PCGS Coin Facts has a "Museum of Coin Holders" under the "Resources" section showing the various generations of PCGS slabs.

I have this one bookmarked from ATS for NGC slabs. https://boards.ngccoin.com/topic/117773-ngc-slab-varieties/

Anyone save away the original (lost) pictures from this post and could re-post them please?

The early images from this thread are long gone and Conder101 was banned from this site many years ago. However, there is always the NGC forum thread, which may or may not be updated and may or may not have all the images. Additionally, Conder101 published a large book on the research for all these slabs and had images of each (I believe it was each) slab in it as well as descriptions of when they were used and how they were changed from previous slabs. The book is exceedingly difficult to find, but I have one of the copies.

  • Thanks @PerryHall. Condor's list was more detailed that PCGS's own list. I have a rattler slab (green label, no barcode, etc.) but it also has a doily outer case on it. On Condor's list, it is like a 1.99 slab.

Thanks @TomB. Does Condor's book list a slab like I showed in the above thread?

Conder pops into the NGC forum now and again, I have also heard that he shows up on cointalk too. If either of you are members of those two forums you should be able to reach him via PM's there.

Since a number of these early slabs are valuable, how do we go

about having these slabs , slabbed?

No, it does not and that was what we were quoting to you from his work. Your rattler had someone carefully put the outer plastic around it after it left PCGS.

    Perry,
I just went there and cannot find a "Museum of Coin Holders" under the "Resources" section. Here is what I get when going to Resources. Am I getting side tracked somewhere?

I'm curious what precipitated the Conder expert getting the old heave ho? I looked at his last few posts and did not see anything that stood out to me as with "insider2".

If I recall correctly, and this was a while ago so I might not recall correctly, there was a thread on the boards by PCGS regarding certain posting behavior and expectations for posting behavior and if those expectations were not met to then expect folks to get banned. Again, if I recall correctly, Conder101 then replied to that thread and wrote something like "if you are going to ban folks then why don't you ban me now..." or something of the sort. He was then banned. In truth, I don't recall Conder101 ever writing anything that should have resulted in a ban, but I was also surprised by that post by Conder101 and I wondered if there had been behind-the-scenes conversations between him and the moderators at PCGS.

Please keep in mind that this was a long time ago (perhaps 15-years ago) and that I did not commit everything to memory or save any posts.

@jesbroken go to the main page and scroll down to the very bottom, there under resources is the link to the museum.

Thank you, I misunderstood and thought it was on the CoinFacts page.

I read once that Conder101 had said that he had never did a slab generation for ICG Slabs. Has anyone? I'm not even sure if ICG was even on his CD, which I missed out on. I messaged him ATS last year regarding a copy of his CD, but he never responded.

The "PCGS Photograde" is also a very useful resource for those learning how to grade coins.
