in U.S. Coin Forum

1)When a buyer of a coin tells me how much over some guide price, he will pay.

2)When a seller of a coin tells me how much below some guide price he will sell the coin for.

After all these years I finally understand that it's all good and I'm the problem.

    Very seldom getting to CRH half dollars for face value as my closest bank and credit union (remember I don't drive) very seldom have them :(

    DDT is still used outside of the US.

    I use them to hold coins in capsules for inventory and shipping. Mylar well break. Coin never touches the soft flip and it is only for temporary storage.

    I avoid all the things I dislike. When there is a coin I must have and the price is reasonable, I buy it. I really like that.

    in no particular order...
    1) overpriced modern coins
    2) people that will hem and haw about how your coin is AU and has so many flaws, but then market it as "Gem BU"
    3) peope that negotiate every penny out of you, but when you try to buy from them there is never any room and you're insulting them by even asking
    4) people expressing interest, discussing a purchase, and then saying they don't have the money lol
    5)-50) do not recall right now

    1. Unquestionably PVC flips. They have been the biggest headache for me in my collecting journey.

    For me it's always been the dealer who's your best friend in a soft market, then can't remember your name in a hot market.

    Here's a variation on that.

    Finding a coin I really like only to find that a dealer has it who constantly over charges for what he has. They are out there. I don't know how they survive.

    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    Dealers/collectors who are full of themselves and are condescending. A stuffed shirt that thinks their 💩don’t stink and act as if they are more important than what they really are. These tend to be the ones that forget where they came from. Unless they were born with a silver spoon in their mouth.

    The cable shopping network can be entertaining at times. One night I almost fell out of my chair laughing when one of the "experts," who is more like a carnival barker, told "the marks" that Platinum plated State Quarters were "a great investment."

    Dealer who have to pull out and check the CDN for a coin in a box of 2x2 circulated coins. Mark or code the coin holder so don,t have to bother asking about the price
