Library of Coins? Except those are even harder to find sometimes, but they do have the sliding plastic inserts that Dansco does, I'm not sure of any others that have those....

I prefer the type without the sliding plastic inserts. They pick up and move dirt that scratches the coins. Cheers, RickO

Depends on what type of album you are wanting. I have an Intercept Shield US Type Set album that I actually like better than the Dansco (sold that). I also have a CAPS album which I like but the binder is cheap and will get replaced eventually. For other country type sets I made my own and put them in a Lighthouse binder.

I like the old whitman albums... with plastic sliders, but slim, sleek, and compact.

I have a couple of whitman's, a couple of littleton's, many danscos and lots of Wayte Raymonds. They all work.

I have 4 different types, while I like the Whitmans, 2 of the 4 Whitman albums I own the blue is separating from the hard paper middle, so I am reluctant to recommend Whitmans (especially for heavy coins). Of the other 3 (Dansco, Littleton and Lighthouse), I like Dansco most but in 2nd place would be Littleton, although Littleton's take much more space than the others.

I have handled many collections in the various albums over the years. From my experience the Dansco's separate just as easily as the Whitman's do. I do like Dansco's better.

How about these Harco's. I don't know much about them. I don't use them but they kinda look like Dansco's.

The greenest coins I have ever seen have come out of Harco albums.

I will absolutely second that! Bought a set of Roosevelt dimes in a book like that. Each one was had a sticky green ring around it. Thankfully, the coins were ok and spent the weekend in acetone just to be safe. Album got tossed!

I ruined a complete set of Jefferson's and Buffaloes in Coinmaster albums. Green! In a safe for nearly 20 years. Luckily they were not high grade.

I've got several complete and partial collections in the Harco's. No evidence of
PVC damage, at least not the green slime. Will have to visit with them soon.

The Littleton albums are a bit chunky but nice build quality.

Somewhere along the line, they switched to non-PVC insert slides.

I had these many years ago. Were very difficult to use. Replaced them with the Dansco.

I've had one for Walkers and one for Mercs for years. They are indeed a bit chunky :D But I have no complaints about my Littleton albums.
More recently I got some Whitman albums for Barber Quarters and Dimes, and I like them a lot.

Thank you @JoeLewis for your question. I need an album for a P&D set of ATB quarters. Putting together a set for my grandson.

Thank you everyone for your responses.

So is Dansco out of business now? It doesn’t seem like anyone has much of anything from them now.

If you really want a Dansco you can order individual pages and make one yourself. I have done this and made several foreign coin albums. For Canadian coins, the Lighthouse Vista albums are very nice.

When the Harco CoinMaster Albums came out, late 1970's early 1980's the pages, while they look really good were loaded with PVC. We were selling them in the coin shop as the neatest thing since sliced bread. Within a week or so some beautiful Lincoln Cent collections came back in with green rings around each coin. It was quick but we soaked everything in acetone and rinsed in distilled water and the coins recovered (not sure how they look 40 or so years later.

We quit selling the Harco albums at the time.

Here is a thread - early Harco's contained PVC, later ones did not - if you can see the outline of where a coin was, stay away unless you like acetone and get at deep discount.

I have about 2 dozen raw sets in Harco CoinMaster Albulms. The newer ones with the Non-PVC slides. In addition each coin is in a Coin-Tain Capsule so I have had no problems with damage.

I like the looks of the coins laid out in these albulms.

They are probably OK if you view your coins often and let them air out so to speak, especially since your coins are in cointains. The outer pages the slides go into are still those nasty PVC loaded plastic. If you leave them closed up in a contained space for a long period of time the PVC will invade!

    OK, here as some photos:

OK, these aren't in KoinTains but they are sealed from SilverTowne Mint.
A complete 50 pcs 1 oz .999 silver State Quarter Round set plus the Territories.

And I do have some Dansco's but they take but too much space as you can get a lot more coins in the same space with the Coin Master Album's. I only decided to go with the Dansco's on the small dollar size coins because the pockets on the Coin Masters were too large and allowed the dollars to rotate in the pocket and with my OCD that bugged me too much so I went with the Dansco's for small dollars (Sacagawea, SBA & Presidential Dollars).

I started using the Coin Master's in the late 1970's some a lot (most) of these coins have been in them for 40+ years and no PVC is present.
