Always wanted one of these, just hasn't happened yet. Show them if you have one! Would love to see your examples of such a historic coin.

I was just looking for a nice low-grade one of these. I'm toying with the idea of a 18th century copper type set or sampling thereof. Cool coin!

Check out the "high relief" of that obverse! Very cool.

Some very nice coins here. Thought about getting one of these years ago... put it off, other priorities. Never did get one.... Cheers, RickO

Got this on the BST looooooooooooong ago. I should probably get a nicer one at some point, but it's nice to have a piece of history like this that I can just hold and appreciate.

@Floridafacelifter - I looked up the cert number and the auction history. Any info on the Laird U. Park Collection provenance? Does the holder still have that reference on it?

Yes indeed since you asked……… here is the coin in the holder as I purchased it and as it remains

And Laird Park had a tremendous collection of early coins- auctioned by Stacks in 1976- here’s a link to the auction catalog

And my coin can be found on page 31

@Floridafacelifter - thanks. I like the Stacks photos better than the TV. Bet they are more accurate too.

MS64BN …this coin was in my possession for a short period of time…i truly regret selling it…much redder than the photo reveals….it was TRULY a Bank of NY hoard coin…i purchased it as a framed piece with a “letter” to a Duetches Bank exec in 1973 as a memento from NY Bank hoard.

I don't know who purchased them, but the Star of Texas Collection Coins were awesome!

Here's my favorite! It's really the perfect looking error!
