Photos taken from our plane as we remained aboard as Sea-Tac shut down for three hours awaiting the President's departure.
We learned after the fact that the reason for the delay stemmed from a bomb scare with a vehicle at the airport having a potential detonation device on its front seat. The response included flying in a number of military aircraft (Osprey heliplanes) to provide backup for Air Force One.
In the end it turned out that the suspect object was a rice cooker!

The market’s proper name is always Faneuil Hall Market, as requested by the second mayor of Boston Mayor Josiah Quincy, even though he is the one who devised the whole plan and implemented it despite of all issues. It’s not until 1989 when the gilded “Quincy Market” sign was put on the porticoes to commemorate the mayor’s contribution.
Quincy Market actually comprises of three buildings – Quincy Market at the center and flanked by South Market and North market. They were built at the same time in the 1820s to cope with the overcrowded Faneuil Hall.

Originally founded in 1892 and constructed from 1907 to 1910, the Pilgrim Monument is a national monument that is not wildly known. It is commonly taught that Plymouth Rock was the first landing of the Pilgrims; however, after visiting this monument, you'll learn that this wasn’t the case. In November of 1620, the Pilgrims first landed in Provincetown and spent about five weeks exploring the tip of Cape Cod before heading to Plymouth.

The Pilgrim Monument is a beautiful tower that stands 252-feet tall. It is known as the tallest granite structure in the United States with its 116 steps and 60 ramps to get to the top. Should you decide to make the trip, there are no elevators available, and it takes about 10 minutes to climb to the top. As you climb the stairs and ramps, you'll notice there are many interior stones that were donated by cities, towns and organizations from across the country.

Once at the top, there is a lookout that goes all the way around the monument. Enclosed with granite walls and large, closed barred windows, it is very safe for children to walk around and take in the views. The views up top spread miles out across the town and ocean.

A rare, calm day with low winds allowed for some amazing shots from the Mount Washington Observatory on Sunday.
A Coast Guard helicopter made a landing on top of the mountain as part of a routine training run.
