New member, I thought I should make my introductions. (and a few added questions)

I've been collecting in some way or another for most of my life and "lurking" at this site for quite awhile, learning the in's-and-out's of the community and enjoying the interaction and helpfulness. Recently, I've sold the bulk of my collection and centered on what really revs me up, Exonumia, primarily medals from Fairs and Exhibitions. That might have something to do with the larger format of medals, easier on my aging eyes!! I also have a fondness for toning, so maybe I'll fit in well here.

Now seemed to be the time to sign on and join instead of just watching and reading. I hope everyone will indulge what will likely be a lot of questions and requests for help. I figure it'll be a fun time!!

How long before I can post/link images?
How long before I have a private-message function?
How long before all other thread functions are enabled?
How long before I can change my icon and how do I do that??

    My most recent purchase is a So-Called Dollar listed as HK-643, which celebrates the end of the Spanish-American War. It's small at 14mm and struck in bronze. As a new member I don't think the software will allow me to post/link images yet, at least I can't figure out how to do it.
