1941 S Walker Half FS901 Missing Wing Feathers Variety, CoinFacts images

A cool variety new to me is the FS901 1941 S.
Over-polishing of the reverse die “erased” the inner wing feathers on the left side of the coin (Right wing of Eagle). A friend introduced me to this variety last week. I immediately hunted through ebay listings until I found 2 clear examples unattributed up for sale. I window shop and variety hunt this way often without actually buying.
1941 San Francisco coinage saw a low of variety coins in several denominations, must have been interesting times at the mint. This Half has extreme die polish lines that stand out as die markers but none are needed to identify this one. There doesn’t seems to be much of a premium for these. It is definitely one for my wishlist.
