1941 S Walker Half FS901 Missing Wing Feathers Variety, CoinFacts images
A cool variety new to me is the FS901 1941 S.
Over-polishing of the reverse die “erased” the inner wing feathers on the left side of the coin (Right wing of Eagle). A friend introduced me to this variety last week. I immediately hunted through ebay listings until I found 2 clear examples unattributed up for sale. I window shop and variety hunt this way often without actually buying.
1941 San Francisco coinage saw a low of variety coins in several denominations, must have been interesting times at the mint. This Half has extreme die polish lines that stand out as die markers but none are needed to identify this one. There doesn’t seems to be much of a premium for these. It is definitely one for my wishlist.

@Aspie_Rocco... Great pictures that clearly show the details.... The WLH is a favorite of mine. Thanks for an informative post. Cheers, RickO
Die polish on Walkers is an acquired numismatic taste but it is worth exploring... not from a financial perspective but from that of just reworking dies to make them last. I have a strange 1940-s that has significant die polish - it has a special look which makes it special to me just because it exemplifies craftsmanship and the way things once were.
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
I just found one of these in my Walker collection!
hard to tell but yours looks like a different but similar reverse die
Oh, I saw this thread and thought @Aspie_Rocco came back after a while...then scrolled up and saw @ricko and knew it was wishful thinking
