Awesome man! Can you give a more specific example though? Just one where you purchased a coin for x and sold it for y? Those graphs are quite impressive though.
Seriously, just show where you bought something for x, sold it for y on ebay and show the fees involved. Not knockin ya. It's a tough way to go usually. Show what ya did. Give an example and brag on yourself! Not trying to insult you at all. Show us all how you made out! One example.

Huh...
My ebay spending over the last 6 months is really close to yours, if I divide yours by 50 or 100...

Awesome dude. Sounds like you're doin great. Nothing wrong with buying a big collection and breaking it up. That's definitely work. I get that. People selling a coin they bought for a hundred bucks 20 years ago for $120 and then getting sunk with fees that make them lose money on the deal is what ebay does that hurts folks. No issue with capitalism at all.

What eBay does is provide a place for people to offer stuff for sale. They don't force people to sell stuff that they'll lose money on.
There are currently over 1 million items for sale in the US Coins section on eBay. Do you suppose there'd be that many if everybody was losing money?
edited to add... As far as someone selling a coin they bought for a hundred bucks 20 years ago for $120 and then getting sunk with fees that make them lose money on the deal, they also have the option of selling that coin to the local B&M. Who will wholesale it out to somebody else who'll sell it to someone who ends up selling it on eBay for a profit. Which option do you think will generate the most money for the original owner?
Wow cap'n obvious. You mean you can sell stuff on eBay? No, they don't force anyone to sell anything. The reason they're a shell of what they once were is because of fees. Gee, thanks for telling folks they can sell stuff on eBay. Sheesh.

The BST here does have many advantages (such as a greater degree of piece of mind and security and ease of transaction) but monetary value it is not.
My experience on numerous sales has been Ebay results in higher prices.
My most recent sale of two Morgansof which I posted last year here on the BST at a total of $550 us ($690.00 Canadian) consisted of a raw 1895-o and 1884-s Morgan, very recently sold on Ebay for $650 and $330 Canadian (respectively).
I didn't get one bite here.
Probably it's because they weren't graded.
But I've been on Ebay since 1998 and it's the best place for me still (even with ever increasing costs).
"Gold is money, and nothing else" (JP Morgan, 1912)
"“Those who sacrifice liberty for security/safety deserve neither.“(Benjamin Franklin)
I wonder if BST is conducive to trades... for example, what are the odds that, if I have a nice stack of PCGS higher-grade mercs, and want to trade for a slabbed key-date morgan, is that something that would get any bites?
If a guy has some coins of moderate value, and wants to have instead some other coin or coins of near the same value... what is the best way to accomplish that? Seems to me, selling one set, and then buying the other, means you pay somebody's profit margin twice. I don't mind paying once.

Trades are very hard to accomplish. It's why money was invented in the first place. What are the odds that the person who has a dollar that you want also wants the dimes you have? You might well have to give up more in the trade than "somebody's profit margin twice. "

Good point. Would you figure that it would be to my advantage to sell my items on the BST, or take them into a LCS? I guess what I'm asking is, would a dealer here on the forum likely pay more than LCS for my PCGS slabbed coins.
