I can't pick one acquisition for this year. I can however say that I added several very satisfying coins to my collection because of my participation in CU and the bst. Thanks to everyone who did the dance with me. Merry Christmas one and all. Peace Roy

Way back in January of 2021, this beauty appeared at a local shop. My ears perk up any time I see a1921 Peace dollar. That she was a 63, PCGS, and an OGH were all positives. But something about this one looked different and special. She's creamy white like my 65. The dealer felt it wasn't going to move fast (this was just before 1921s became so hot), so they offered it to me at a very good price.
Based on that "special" hunch, when I got home I did a little research and the good folks on the forum helped confirm: She's a VAM-1H--struck from satin proof dies.
So off to Mr. Albenese, where she got a pretty green tattoo.
1921 Peace. Bargain price. PCGS. OGH. Satin proof dies. Green CAC.
That's a winning combination

I made some great purchases, but this one was the best. I have an 1873 cc with arrows 25c in VF25, and found this one in an NGC holder. I crossed it at grade to a PCGS XF40 holder (3 in 40, 6 finer), sold the other for about what I paid for the new one, and everyone was happy.

For me. I added a number of items this year. Took awhile, for me to recall them, but after 4 years of being on these boards, I was pleasantly surprised to see that my two favorite purchases for the year were from board members. I hope they don’t mind the accolades but my favorites were:

This one was my last purchase this year and my favorite. Other than this coin I’ve only bought a couple of others. Saturday this piece will be 100 years old 😊. Time marches on.

A few neat pieces I purchased from a collector/friends estate. ( Leo Courshon, many EAC members knew him. Excellent numismatist.)
I always wanted a smugglers/box/opium dollar
And this, I just really like the look, especially when the re-punched 5 is so clear.
