Tonight was my retirement after 27.3 years of being an AMT....this was hands down my favorite jet and the last one I worked and departed last night. Sure going to miss it......but sure looking forward to enjoying life, a new chapter.

This morning's vegetable sighting has to be a good omen.
Last night on the evening news two giant pumpkins were featured being lifted out of their greenhouse by a crane after the roof had been cut to allow their exit. Reportedly they weighed at least 1500 pounds apiece and were to be headed to the State Fair for the Giant Pumpkin Weigh-In.
Then this morning on my way to work, what should pull up alongside of me:

FWIW here are some screen shots from the referenced Sunday evening news feature. As noted above, Dale's entry won the competition at over 1800 pounds. (Isn't that equivalent to the weight of a small car?)
With all the doom and gloom from this week's events including the lives lost in Afghanistan, fire forced evacuation in Lake Tahoe, and hurricanes and storms, it is nice to have a flower to remind us that the sun will shine again.

I was actually sitting in an opened top convertible when I snapped the photos of the Giant Pumpkins next to me.

Wonder if Dale Marshall appreciates being identified as "biggest pumpkin contestant?"
