Your crossover success rates

I just checked my crossover success rates for the past 12 months. These are all world coins which may influence the results given NGC's relative outperformance in that market vs. the US market.
16 for 18 with 14 coins crossing at grade and 2 coins upgrading. One coin failed the first time and succeeded the second in crossing at grade. Way too much in "guarantee premium" fees paid in the process.
How is your success rate?

About 85%. US
All were big color and most were "star" labeled coins. All were extremely vetted by me

My success rate is about the same as yours with the highest-graded coins failing most often.
I think, when possible, it’s better to crack out and submit raw rather than attempt crossover.
Agree with all of that. I cracked my N64 1765 Guatemalan Pillar and it graded P64+ and I avoided the 1% fee. I have taken to cracking out more and more with the exception where one grade down is a steep curve and the risk/reward isn't there.

I have not crossed enough coins whereby a reply would have any statistical value
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
Only two recent examples for me. I have 1845-D $2.5 that was in an NGC 55 slab downgrade to a 53 but it now has a green CAC sticker. The coin did not sticker in the NGC slab. I also have an NGC 55 1854 $3 that would not cross at the same grade. I submitted it to CAC and it now has a green sticker.
Did it make economic sense after all was said and done?
Was it strictly OCD?
I am 1/1 with a point downgrade with an ANACS Morgan Dollar.
Out of nearly 100 raw coins, only four details. Three were expected and one just an oversight.

Did it make economic sense...yes and no. Some coins are more liquid or more valuable in PCGS plastic, some aren't. For the ones that aren't it was for aesthetics and consistency.

In other words, OCD. That's ok. I have it too.
I've done well for coins crossing over, 4 for 4 crossing over higher or same grade, not surprised. Mostly for the registry sets for hard to find world coins. Some of the coins that graded higher are rarities in their grades.
I'm on my first attempt right now. I sent in 3 coins together. 2 regrades that did well and are already home.. The crossover seems to be stuck at ENCAPSULATION. It's been there 3+ weeks with the yellow code..
Is that good or bad???

I don't think it means anything except maybe they are completely backlogged.
I got one set of grades last Sunday(!!!), well past the stated turnaround times.
So maybe they are working weekends to catch up???
TrueViews seem to be slower than grades. Some of my coins have been home for weeks and the TVs are still not posted.
I am pretty close to 90%, but I only cross CAC coins so maybe that is not an accurate estimate..........
Historically speaking, I’d guess I’m at around 75-80%. That said, my last effort was disastrous. I sent in four MS NGC Barber halves. Two 62s, and two 63s. I listed MS62 as the minimum grade for all of them. Only one of the 63s crossed.😓

As crossovers cost money could care less. I have submitted ogh or rattlers get upgrade. I play to win not lose or tie. I would go broke playing holder game. Many deals I buy have mix of different TPG’s. Very few of these items justify cross over expense especially if item mod, world, cost close to melt or grading cost, under $300.
A more valid formula for success: increase in Grade / MV as result of crossover less grading expenses (fees and shipping).
What is the increase in CDN bid (or blue sheet bid) as result of cross after deduct grading costs?
Like somebody wanting chrome wheel rims / fancy respray, livery for their 6 figure car I can see where wealthy collectors want their registry match (PCGS Holder). It’s their money, hobby. My character in GTAO has $40 m plus all the cars, properties, weapons upgrades, war toys he could want plus yacht and sub. So spending $300 k on a $2.0m car he won at the casino (or purchased from Legendary Autos) for vehicle upgrades no big deal to him.
If I were to submit my NGC slabs for crossover, it would be for aesthetic rather than for financial reasons - I prefer the PCGS slab.
One curiosity about this thread so far - the responses are biased towards those who have had a good deal of success!
I don't think I've ever attempted to cross a US coin but I'm around 14/15 for World. The 14 that crossed were NGC all at same grade, the one that failed was an ANACS coin. Seems like NGC might be a little tighter on world coins they cross very well.
I sent in four a few months back. Three crossed and one still sits in a third party tomb. So 75% for me.
I wonder if they have these threads ATS?
Guess that would be geared more to a crackout specialist.

Finally got my crossover result. NGC 1976 IKE Type 1 MS65 crossed to PCGS at same grade. My first crossover so I'm happy with the result!
I've never crossed over any coins, but I've crossed over a dozen or so vintage baseball cards and I am 100%. All graded at the same level or higher. The 1906 Fan Craze pictured below went up 2 full grades.

I did that very thing last month! I submitted a NGC slab for crossover to PCGS so it would match my other PCGS coins😎
I have some starred NGC coins which did not cross at same grade.
