Here is a funny one........NGC was 0 for 2 on these holders. First, they dropped the ball on the "1768" 1/12 taler attribution; it would have been amazing if they predicted the death of the arch-bishop 6 years later. On the 1774 holder, Phillip Karl died in 1754. The piece commemorated the death of archbishop Emmerich Joseph von Breidbach zu Bürresheim in 1774, the archbishop of Mainz from 1763-1774 and prince-bishop of Worms 1768-1774.

A couple of favorite (out of only a small handful I have left) Mexico cap & rays 8R which are not currently in my Mexico branch mint 8R type set. Non-registry set keepers!!

1881-Mo MH, PCGS MS64+PL. To date, PCGS had given the PL designation to just 11 cap & rays 8R. Three have been graded higher at MS65PL. Strange look for a PL coin with all those heavy die cracks.
1892-Mo AM, PCGS MS64+ (pop 1/5). An old favorite with color which I've not posted in some time.

@cecropiamoth , I was 16 in 1984 so, probably, very happy times, at least that is how I want to remember and I feel that , somehow, it was a special year for the world in general, for the pop culture, etc, so that is why I picked this year for collecting.

Can't argue that!! I was 13. Playing baseball all summer, fishing every morning, generally causing mischief. The King of Pop, Prince, Madonna, Van Halen, Twisted Sister, Night Ranger... The Karate Kid, Sixteen Candles... Fun and happy times, formative years.
