Does this hit anyone's radar? The S mint proof ASE is available today, with a 200,000 minting and no household limits. Silver has been on the rise though, this one will cost you $73.00 today.

I think the 2019 S PF sold under 150k at a cheaper price so 200k limit is a bit out there

    No thank you.

I will not get one.... Interested in the W privy mark ASE.... Because I am an old patriot with a military background. Cheers, RickO

Not with the current 40% price increases. I was all set to get the limited edition proof set but can’t quite generate enthusiasm to pay $201 for it.

  • bigolebigole Posts: 385 ✭✭✭

A little off topic, but a lot of the silver items' prices were significantly jacked up, I assume today. The 5 ouncers are now $229? The silver proof set went from $65 to $105? That's outrageous.......

  • tincuptincup Posts: 5,298 ✭✭✭✭✭

Have no interest in nearly all US Mint products... especially after the gouging price increases. I'll wait for the aftermarket for any issues I might want to keep in my collection. ( except for issues like the W privy mark issues of course! )

I got the W proof when it was still in stock and $64. I’ll pass on this one.

I'm done with them. Ain't gonna pay that kind of money for them anymore.

  • Joe_360Joe_360 Posts: 1,775 ✭✭✭✭✭

I bought two = I believe that 2020 coins will bring nice returns and to be honest, paid for with W quarter money...

Last coin in the series with this design if you don’t count the ww2 in nov with the privy

great point - why are they billing this as 'last ase release w current design' when the privy ase is coming out in nov? 🤔

  • GoldminersGoldminers Posts: 4,279 ✭✭✭✭✭

The privy is a commemorative mark on a bullion proof coin. It is a really expensive mutt.

  • CoinHoarderCoinHoarder Posts: 2,614 ✭✭✭✭✭

Everybody, or just about everybody, will be trying to get the WW2 privy on 11/05/2020.

Any guesses on how expensive this one will be? If the current proof is $73.00, perhaps this privy marked will be raised towards $99.00 ?

    $83.00

I never imagined a one ounce proof silver eagle could sell for over $83 shipped direct from the Mint at <$30 silver., Then there are grading costs.

The 2019-S Enhanced proof is the <30,000 mintage silver eagle winner at this stage. The 08- 07rev is 46,000 range, This 75,000 mintage is relatively low. However, it is very special with a WW2 privy mark. This one could do very well, like it should.

If I land the V I have them all. Last year I bought a raw 8 rev 7 and nailed a 70 with our host. The 95w should be in the mail to our host within the next two weeks. Got notification the mint just shipped the 2020 s so that will go in to our host still in box and then I am done

Great work on your set. I will be glad when this silver eagle set can be a stand alone historical fixed set. We needed to start a new one to get more involvement. Maybe the new ones with revised reverse designs will help in a small way. Trouble is, I think the premiums are too high and this V75 will likely be the last silver eagle I ever buy.

Thank you. Same here. I may take a break and then try to upgrade to all 70’s. I am at 80% now. Not sure I am going to collect the new ones. Question for you, I have the 25th and all the two coin and three coin speciality Eagle sets they put out, they are not graded. Do you consider those sets part of the overall series or are the speciality outliers?

I was wondering the same thing. I believe they are part of the overall series. And if that's true, how many coins does it take to have the whole series?? Can anyone make that list? I still don't have that elusive 95 W.

Part of me imagines that the dealers — TV and otherwise — bought these with both hands and both feet for grading and flipping.

  • OrlenaOrlena Posts: 335 ✭✭✭✭

I’m with you Santini. I got one on enrollment. I have already seen plenty of slabbed coins marked up by a bunch on eBay, and the big dealers. I think maybe some sort of limit like 5 or 10 would have been in order but business is business. All the predictions on this and the palladium that no one would buy em at these prices went out the window. Might as well spend all the money we’re saving by sitting home.....

It shouldn't be. 200k mintage. 200k product limit.

It was on my radar. Then I saw the blip go into the upper atmosphere.

  • MsMorrisineMsMorrisine Posts: 34,605 ✭✭✭✭✭

there are two sellers on ebay with a mess of them for 79.95 and these were on sale for a good bit of today. check the mint site in the mornings if you want some.

73 + 4.95 means only a bit of a markup over the price of ordering just 1.

I am surprised that these have nearly sold out.

Unless it’s some other variant, each year it’s been the S mint one included in the set. Since the limited edition is limited to 30K, they could have reserved that many from individual sale.

  • OnastoneOnastone Posts: 4,071 ✭✭✭✭✭

    Sunday morning and it's available.

  • Then the Mintage limit would have been 200k and the product limit should have been 170k.

Right. Last year's S mint ASE had no mintage limits. This year does, so my guess is the LESPS will have a W minted ASE.

  • TurtleCatTurtleCat Posts: 4,628 ✭✭✭✭✭

I guess we will see before long. But the last few years it was all the same mint mark. Wouldn’t be the first time the mint did something unexpected.

if the LESPS is listed as S, they really could drop a W ASE in there? it's chaos at the mint! 🙃

Yup,,,,toast again. Looks like it lasts a few hours and poof again....I'm going with the 170k and 30k in the LESPS. Doesn't jive with the product limit of the S but I'm still going with that

My guess is as orders are processed and if payment is denied, those coins go back up for sale. Also as mentioned on 200K limit so holding some back for LESPS. Haven’t looked at LESPS sales history to know how many in that group. Plus a bunch have turned off enrollment so the whole thing is a guessing game.
edit looks like the 2019 LESPS had sales of 46.076.
