But apparently it will be held someplace. Anyone have a large finished basement that you want a bunch of old dudes milling around in ?

I think my backyard is big enough to hold the show!

Why have this take place at an alternate venue. Do they actually expect attendance?

Sounds like another militant missive sent out about a previous show...that did not happen.

We were informed this week that there will be no buisness travel through Dec. 31, I suspect this fall will slowly be cancelled for everything including all major coin shows........ All of college football is next.

UHR, I've been to your place and I agree that it might just be big enough! As for mine, well, if you don't mind hornets and bats it might be an ideal location. By the way, we have been seeing bobcats in the yard lately, too.

Mine too but my driveway and walkway is so steep that it would kill off more attendees then COVID. Everyone might make it down but not everyone is making it back up alive.

We got rattlesnakes in the area behind our backyard of our New Mexico home - a venue that might work.

Do either of you have RV/camper hook ups and facilities?? I can bring my 4 wheeler to taxi the
dealers/attendees. My wife will run the concession stand and we will have extra yellow mustard
on hand in hard to use plastic squirt bottles. :D:D

The rattlesnakes did nothing to deserve that kind of treatment.

This another bit of bad news for Baltimore. If they find another venue that works, the show might stay there. The cities are in trouble now. This is not a good sign. It would better to cancel the show.

I wonder how long this will continue..... I can see many signs that say people are tired of this restrictive situation. Tempers seem to be barely in control (and some totally out of control). It certainly is an unprecedented state of affairs. No doubt the sickness is dangerous... precautions must be taken... However, I think we will shortly see the populace just 'bust loose'....maybe in time for FUN? ;) Cheers, RickO

Maybe they should move it to Jacksonville.

I've been waiting for a decent show for a while, but I'd much rather people be safe. Yes, it sucks that we're missing another show... it would suck worse to be sending condolences to about 1.5% of show attendees and vendors...

Loved the "forced" wording. Maybe if we as a nation would have en"forced" flattening the curve, then had better tracking so we can tamp down localized outbreaks, then maybe this coin show wouldn't be "forced" to cancel.

Yea, maybe we can blow off the virus and crowd up on each other like the Georgia High school.....LOL...Good idea? NOT.

Anyway, I am sad the B-more show looks probably to be off. Also, I liked going to the PCGS booth to directly to submit.

Illinois has cancelled all convention events until a vaccine or "effective treatment" is in place.

Speculation is that the November Baltimore will be held in Atlanta.

The Whitman EXPO was held in Atlanta for years before moving to Baltimore and seemed to be well attended. Not being a dealer I have no idea if it was a good show for them. Maybe someone who participated will chime in. I'd love to see it come back to Atlanta.

Atlanta would be great. 5 hour drive as opposed to 8+ to Baltimore. I'm not sure
    about dealer and collector attendance.

Every Whitman show they had in Atlanta(attended every one) I had an outstanding show! Here's hoping it comes to Atlanta and stays! I think Atlanta(especially the Galleria area) is much better suited for a coin show than Baltimore!

I agree that moving that show permanently to Atlanta would be a very good idea. The Cobb Galleria Center is very nice.

I agree about Atlanta - I went to every show held there (about a 2-plus hour drive for me). With the Cobb Galleria Center on the northwest outskirts, you don't have to worry about downtown Atlanta. (Although driving on the 285 ByPass can still be a hassle).

I doubt it will move permanently to Atlanta. Not enough money nor “coin people” nearby.

Personally, I expect they will move it there temporarily as it would be local for them.

I won’t even get into how much I hate Atlanta though.

I have been to 4 ANA shows in Baltimore but never to a Whitman show there. If they have it at Atlanta I will be there.

Be interesting to hear why you rank Baltimore better than Hotlanta!

As I said, it’s not close enough to the big money centers of the Northeast. You can’t drive (or take the Acela) there from Boston, New York, Philadelphia, or Washington. That alone cuts attendance in a major way.

If it were permanently moved to Atlanta, mark my words, Stacks would bail as the “official auctioneer.”

Just because you like it, doesn’t make it a good location.
