It's Tax Day!! The weirdness of 2020 continues - show something to relieve the pain!!

So, why would I file before I must, if I almost always have to pay?
Usually that's taking a day off in April, combing through the return line by line one last time, and sending it off at the last minute (or within the last couple days, depending).
So, in the strange world of 2020, when dates change and everything is a little different ... it was today I did the deed.
Now I'm done ... returns filed, checks sent. Of course, usually I have a whole year before the next time. This year I suspect I'll only get nine months. Damn. I'll still crack a beer (or a bottle of wine) later.
Whether you paid, or got a refund, show something to ease the pain of Tax Day 2020, COVID version ...
... and stay safe all!! Eventually this will pass (I hope)!
From a Board Member @oih82w8 (his pictures, and they are very accurate) that actually showed up today as I was running through the last of the deductions. Thanks John!!

I paid mine back in April just so I wouldn't have to think about it anymore.

Filed in March, I usually always get a few bucks back, but for those on the hot seat today.

A lot of pain here. I had to pay a bundle. Just thinking of the good coins that I could buy with what I had to send in.
This was my personal stimulus, was mixed in an eagle lot I picked up recently and priced as a normal 2008w
Congratulations 😉

The silver dollar had the inside track of becoming "the new dollar" in 1836, but the Treasury secretary was pushing for pattern gold coin. Here it is ... the most common U.S. gold patter coin.
I did the same even though I had to pay in addition to my with-holdings.
Nice post @pursuitofliberty
When I look at this coin.............I don't have a worry in the world for a few minutes .

I'm a big fan of that Liberty nickel toning. I'd like that on all my nickels.
and that dollar pattern.......There's always been something about that circular, sweeping wreath that I find particularly appealing.
I paid mine about 2 weeks before they announced the extension
Great timing

I put mine in the mail today.
Oh the coins I could purchase with what I pay each year......
In reality, I don’t mind paying, I just wish they were better stewards with it.
Mine got done the end of March

My pain was temporarily relieved with receipt of the COVID helicopter money.

Sent mine in April 15th so I wouldn’t have to deal with it later.
@Treynok What is different about the ASE?
@derryb
Yeah, I wish!
But, kind of like @BryceM said, I guess I really don't mind paying ... it's better than the alternative. I just wish it might get used in a more productive manner (to my way of thinking).
The glass is more than half full in my world. I'm healthy, and at least I still have a well-paid position in a sound organization where I really like a lot of the people. I try my best to keep as many of them as possible gainfully employed while continuing to keep our company profitable.

Yep ... pay day,
Paid them yesterday. Thank god for the welfare covid payment. It helped ease the pain of financing corruption. Semper Fi!

For the first time in the American Silver Eagle series, a significant variety was released in 2008. This was known as the 2008-W Silver Eagle Reverse of 2007 Variety (Buy on eBay). The US Mint had slightly altered the reverse design between 2007 and 2008, and they inadvertently struck some 2008 coins with the 2007 reverse type.
The variety occurs on the 2008-W Uncirculated Silver Eagle. This is the collectible uncirculated or “burnished” version of the coin that the US Mint sold directly to collectors. The variety can be identified by examining two aspects of the reverse design. On the Reverse of 2007, the “U” in “United States” will be bowl shaped and the dash between the words “Silver” and “One” will be shaped like a tilde. On the reverse of 2008, the “U” will have a spur on the right side of the letter and the dash will be angled.

I saw both state and federal sucked the money out of my bank account today like clockwork. On the flip side my wife was promoted today to Chief Revenue Officer. Took a little sting out of it. Can’t really share this good news with too many people as so many are stuck right now.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

I sent off my extension. Did not owe anything this time around because I set up the withholding to take out the right amount throughout the year. I just like to take my time to ensure all the little details are correct.

I filed in March and paid in April.....No sense in dragging it out. Cheers, RickO
This year, was the first year, in a couple of years, I did NOT have to pay Federal or State taxes...since I started having an additional amount taken out per paycheck.
BTW, @pusuitofliberty the images in the OP were not taken by me, they were imaged by @robec , who does an incedible job!

We can all thank the Revenue Act of 1861 for starting all this.

I had easier taxes this year than usual and got some back this year so I pulled the trigger in February.
(no idea whose coin this is)
The U in UNITED is the most obvious marker. Reverse die modification in 08. Some 08's were struck with the old die, thus the "reverse of 08."
