NEWP 1844-C $2.5

I’ve been quiet on the buying front but a few pieces have come up that I couldn’t let pass by. On my Charlotte project it’s become rather obvious that most pieces have been messed with and have unnatural color. Not to mention most look like they have been run over by a road grater so I figure when one comes up that scratch’s the itch........Pounce.
This honestly circulated piece popped up on one of my favorite dealers site and we grinded out a deal.
This fills my $2.5 Charlotte spot.

Nicely done. That coin has a hell of a lot going for it.

Lovely piece with a lot of good things going for it. Yeah ... if you're gonna pounce!

Lovely example! It's nice to fill a tough spot in a collection with a coin you are confident won't need to be replaced.
Very attractive! Love the look of that coin
I saw that one, and was mildly tempted...... until I saw it was already gone.
Neat coin Very few C-mint coins have that sort of look.
Worth the wait! Congratulations
That coin deserved a pounce! Congratulations, Mark.

Mark, no brainer at first sight, well done, SH worthy!
Edited to add, I wonder if the weak strike downgraded it to 53 in the grading room and it is technically thus undergraded - that is mint frost on Miss Liberty on the low points?
Best, SH
Yes indeed and the color is right. The coin exceeded the photo which I couldn’t believe.

Terrific coin. Congrats... Not sure how expectations can be managed given the grade in light of the quality

Nice coin! Glad to see you are now comfortable enough to purchase coins again. I take that as a good sign going forward.
I sold a big collection in December so it came out of that rat hole ; ). I’ve found that over the years that unimpaired branch mint gold coins are in tightly held hands. Poop or get off the pot in this case
Thanks and thanks all
