So common for many to confuse Memorial day with Veterans day. Memorial day is for the heros that precede us to heaven. Not for vets and active duty. Just say, respect those that have given all, it's their day.

I would prefer to skip the flashbacks /unfortunate events e.g 9/11 that occurred after my first enlistment.
So here is an interesting story when I was still a young soldier with this ID. I lost it along with my wallet in the field that was nothing but sand. Half year later, my vehicle was stuck in the same spot where my wallet was lost. I immediately spotted a black leather object laid on the sand once I stepped out the car. And there it was! lol

Oh Bob, I wasn't posting to enter (even though I am a vet - USN AT2 - 1983 to 1989) ... I was just commenting on how generous you are (and have seemingly always been).
Thank you for selecting me. Not to look a gift horse in the mouth (and you certainly have one of those - at least your avatar does!) ... but I would really like it if we could send this to a vet who saw combat. They came closer to the spirit of Memorial Day than I did (sad as that is to consider).
