Now I know it all depends on which coin you are seeking for. I get that. I'm trying to find out what the forum MOSTLY seeks for when looking for that coin. My choice would be Variety. Thanks Guy's!

    Luster (White)

I chose luster but I would say eye appeal is #1. Whether gold or silver, I look for a coin that makes me happy first. But I have compromised before to fill a space in a set. In that case, the specific coin's date/mint are #1 and eye appeal and/or affordability is #2.

Couldn't pick from those as I don't see physical attraction, great personality, or sense of humor listed :(

    Variety

I voted for variety, but there are other factors that mean a lot to me. Such as clean mark free surfaces and I prefer pretty toning to blast white,

There was no choice to fit my current procurement interests.... I look for coins that appeal to me... could be design, theme, condition....or, sometimes, all three...Cheers, RickO

Agree... and quality for the grade.

For me its the history more than anything else. I collect English coins mostly (Maundy sets, sovereigns) so grade is nice but immaterial.

Sorry guy's if your preference isn't listed. I tried to add a couple but it just seems to not allowing me to do so. Sorry! :/

Of greatest concern is originality, if genuineness is a given. Tough to pick a #! overall beyond that as I collect across a fairly broad range. Eye appeal is a good catch-all.

    High grade

Tossup between variety and high grade, with cameo and value trailing close behind.

I understand. It's not easy for some of us because of the more interest in other coins. I just wanted to get the idea what MOST here prefer. I too have other preferences. I also admire the "Cameo" aspect in coins! ??? You know what? That just gave me an idea for another thread. Thanks. ;) Lol

It is always strike and eye appeal. Neither on the list.

I'm really surprised the "Variety" is leading the pack? :*
I thought "High Grade" would be more chosen?

I'm a big picture guy, who tends to examine a coin as a journey to see what I can see. It's more than color variety luster and error. IMO. Peace Roy

Eye appeal is everything to me.

    Error

Eye appeal is #1 for me. Best if it is a major error coin also. ;)
