The Official 2020 Topps Heritage Thread - Talking and Trading

This is without question one of my favorite times of the collecting year.

I know there is a small thread on 2020 heritage questions or something like that, but with this year's heritage less than 2 weeks away this thread needed to be started (weeks ago).

I'm more excited about next year's release, but as usual I'll be doing this year's set, and I'm looking forward to all the usual suspects showing up to display their sweet pulls and do some trading.

Let's hear what you all have on order. I'm trying to secure a blaster case and possibly a retail case.

Dan they are both retail products, but when i say retail case I'm talking about a case with 8 boxes of 24 packs each (1,728 cards). A blaster case is 16 boxes with 8 packs in each box (1,152 cards). Together they will be more cards and less money than a hobby case (which has better chances at hits) that has 12 boxes with 24 packs each (2,592 cards).

For the first year ever, I preordered a hobby case. Can’t wait as 1971 is one of my all time favorite designs!

Curious why no facsimile signatures? They had them when they redid ‘59 and ‘67 but the previews of ‘20 Heritage do not have them this year. Think it breaks the spirit of staying true to the original Topps design.

I just saw DAC preorder case price went up about two bills from when I ordered mine. Having never preordered a case, never thought about such happening but it makes sense.

I’m buying a master set online as my initial core. I’ll upgrade any undesirable I can with modest retail purchases and going in moderately heavy on a couple FB hobby case breaks. Will be my first year I won’t 100 percent build from scratch. I’ll be saving a ton of scratch!

Sadly, the card shop home closed down and too impatient to order a hobby box online. Hopefully, find a hobby box over my spring break.

Not looking good for some at first glance, many boxes missing hits. not mine I am still waiting for the UPS man, been stalking him on my home security camera.

I have a case coming from DAC on Friday. I went to my local shop today and picked up a half case and a partial box (18 packs). I am hoping to build a base set from all of this or at least get really close. I will let everyone know. My plan is to trade or sell all premium inserts, refractors, etc.

Thus far, I just opened the partial box. I pulled the Trout action short print which was a nice pull. Already starting to recoup some of my investment once I sell it!

Just bought my annual Cardinals team set on Ebay including high numbers. Now I have to start looking for variations. If anybody pulls any Cardinals variations just let me know.

I'm seeing the same with occasional missing box toppers. And that the "hits" are in the bottom row of packs (for at least 3/4 of the boxes opened from a case).

Thanks for the info - that's about $80 per box, which seems pretty good for this year. There's one shop in town that gets product direct from Topps - he's selling for $85 per box (he said his direct price was $58 per box). Not sure what the going rate was from GTS.

Bought and opened one hobby box and lucked into a hotbox. Very happy to get the May/Lux, Acuna and Alonso among the chromes. Pulled Tatis, Lindor, Betts and 2 Verlanders among the SPs. A Joe Moeller autograph (honestly not familiar with him) and a Freeman OPC back. Was a very fun box to open.

One of your Verlander SPs is a team name color swap variation. The team name is a different color. Nice pull.

I ended up getting it late last night. UPS delivered to wrong house.

Got to love initial panic from sellers. Picked up 28 SPs for $21 last night. My LCS doesn't get boxes until today, so I already feel like a winner.
