Winterfun @ Mt Washington on Vancouver Island-Canada
everything from Snowshoeing to Black Diamond downhill... great snow right now and nature pure.... No pollution.
Photos were taken by Bill Jorgensen, one of our club Photographers ( Glacier Probus Club -Courtenay) on a recent outing.
Today is the 30th anniversary of the "Pale blue dot" photograph taken by Voyager 1, 34 minutes before it powered off its cameras forever.
**_Look again at that dot. That’s here. That’s home. That’s us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every ‘superstar,’ every ‘supreme leader,’ every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.

Here’s a piece from my collection. I’ve had it a few years, not a newp.
It’s a sterling hand raised tumbler cup by Garrard & Co in London, late 1920’s I believe it’s 1928
What’s cool about this piece is that it’s hand raised...

Here’s a video showing how my cup would have been made... worth ten minutes to watch in my opinion:

My bison head ring. I got this on 09-13-2001, when everyone was still in shock from 09-11.

I have an original example, c.1900-10, and I did a side by side comparison.
Both are genuine Reed & Barton, think 1880-S Morgan vs 1921...
