I recognize the above half dime as being from the Simpson collection -- all his cert numbers (from March 2010) started with 06666 !

One of the fun things about the 1860-o half dime is that sometimes the grading services will not see the "o" and label it a regular 1860.
(The "O" mintmark was above the bow 1838-1859, until the last year 1860 when it was a small "o" below the bow).
I have seen 5 examples where this happened in auctions as well.

There were three mid-grade PCGS 1875-P 20c on GC last night. A pair of AU-53 went for about $460 each. I got this bad boy for just a few bucks more. The upbid wasn't for the sticker, anyone wanna guess why?

    BF-2 "left date" R-4.
    (vs. BF-1 "right date" R-1).

How many of the ~32 known die pairs in the series do you have now?

    Left date (BF-2).
The book says that they are about 2-3% of the remaining population, but I have looked at over 1000 75-P coins over the last few years and this is only the 2nd I've seen.

I got a chance to dig through a stash of over 200 75-P a while back, every one was a BF-1. I think this might be more scarce than R-4.

Aside from the proof only issues, I'm missing the 75-CC BF-5 and four of the common 75-S.

When I finish the set, maybe I should start a 20c thread.

The 1872 caught my eye at the MOON show in Minneapolis last weekend. I was looking for a 62-63 for my 7070 type set budget wise. But said what the hell and bought this instead. Very happy with the purchase, not that concerned about the return on investment in the future. If my Heirs lose a few bucks so be it.
