This has been on the product schedule since May 4, and I'll make this a separate thread rather than muddy the Apollo 11 commem thread, since it's move on beyond US Mint/BEP offerings.
In a rather odd fashion, they've filled in the details without images, and another odd Mintage/Product limit. The price will be $85.95, on sale July 2nd July 16 at Noon.

Includes a $50 uncirculated note with a serial number beginning with “1969”
Also features an engraved representation of the iconic “Buzz Aldrin on the Moon” photograph

To make sure it's a matched set, the Buzz Aldrin print will have a serial number the same as the last four digits of the $50 FRN. That's interesting.
The obvious winning S/N would be 19690720, but I'll bet that's the sample pic and won't be for sale...

With only 5,700 available, these might go quick. It took just over two weeks to sell out the 5K Founding Fathers Currency Set, and this might hold more interest than that set...

My guess is replacements for damaged product? (And they don't 'mint' FRN's they print them. Should be called printage, not mintage.
) And it's slightly misleading, since they pulled 6K bills, but many more with the same S/N combination exists. But I digress...
Still on the fence. I've always played BEP products as a S/N lottery, but $86 is a more expensive ticket. I am hoping the reasonable side of my brain wins tomorrow at noon.
At least it's closer to par ($86 buys $50 face, as opposed to the $70/1 ozt .999 silver that I just did with Pride).
My most prized piece of currency might be my CU $50 Disney Dollar note (only issued one year for Disneyland's 50th anniversary), so that might tell you where I value my paper collection....

And as most news outlets are proclaiming, today is the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11's lift-off.
With that, Moneyfactory's tribute to Apollo 11 lifts off today @ Noon as well, about 2.5 hours later than the real thing.

I just couldn't help myself; I'm a huge fan of the U.S. Mint's Apollo 11 commemorative program this year and I picked up a couple as well.
Got some for the Apollo hoard.
Now it needs to sell out so I don’t wake up in the middle of the night or early AM and buy more.
I got 1 just now 1.5 hours after availability. How long will it take to sell out now is the question?
With only 5,700 possible it should sell out @Hemispherical. When is the question. For your slumber and wallet health it should be soon. Enthusiasm on this forum for this product mild to say the least.
Interest doesn't seem high and maybe they knew that with only printing a small number of them; I want to frame one of my sets like a piece of artwork and then tuck the other one away.

I used to buy BEP products, and always enjoy looking at crisp new notes with interesting serial numbers, but I sure wish they'd sell star notes again. That would make me a buyer for sure.
