Here in Manitowoc we have a Peregrine falcon nest box with webcam on the side of a grain elevator. This year a female has 3 baby falcons (a baby falcon is called an eyass). Mommy has a fresh kill for feeding them and herself. Follow them grow at:

Getting a jump on the Friday Random Pucture thread since I have Wi-fi now after a week at sea.
A complimentary delicious Cuban coffee treat being served to my wife and me on our visit to a rum factory in Havana this week.
They also gave us EACH a bag containing both a dark and a light rum in honor of our 50th anniversary. Very gracious of them.

NASA's Kepler Telescope has recently discovered a planet that is very like our own, orbiting a star that is quite close within our own Galaxy.
Kepler 186f, was found in the Cygnus Constellation around 500 light-years from Earth.
In our Galaxy alone, the Milky Way, NASA has estimated around 40 billion Earth-sized planets but this new discovery is the the first to be found in the habitable zone of the star it orbits.
