Over the years, there have been many good threads....The Coinalot stories were really good, the advent of CAC produced some awesome discussions (still does), the Omega thread, Bongo Bongo was interesting....and the now rare commentary, but at one time extensive, the elimination of the Open Forum really caused a stir. Some really interesting times here....

I think the most notable "story" ever was the 9-11 donation endeavor that was lead by @wondercoin . That truly showed this forum at its best. Showing the forum at its worst was probably the threads about "disagrees."
Airplanenut's annual auctions to benefit Pancreatic cancer research brought us all together...well at least for once a year.
Boom who gathered funds here and supposedly took it to New Orleans disaster victims.
I’ve quite enjoyed seeing the response here to CHD’s tragedy. I have a belief that most people are fundamentally good. This sort of stuff reminds me that it might be true.

Not sure how it began, other than complaining? – but the mob mentality that eventually pushed hard enough on eBay along with PCGS support (due to law suits and other nasty stuff with other third party slabbers) to eventually ban all other third party slabs from being listed on eBay except for PCGS, NGC and ANACS.

The story of board members who were able to handle a 1974 aluminum cent at a eastern coin show. There were even pics posted at the time. At least one of those involved is still active here.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
