Most likely my last addition for 2018, post your 'last coin' of 2018!

This one fills in another slot for my registry set, this 1813 50C/UNI is graded AU-53 with a green bean.

My last mint purchase was the 2018 introductory P and D American Innovation rolls. Not sexy to say the least.
As usual super nice purchase! I do so enjoy seeing your post especially on Instagram
My last purchase is a very common token. Matter of fact I wouldn’t even consider it
but it has a shattered obverse die and have not seen one like that.
.
Otherwise my last purchase for the year that is very scarce
Conder token. It was held in customs for almost a month and I thought it would
never make it to me. 24 days later, it did!

I'm still searching till the very end of the month !!!
This was it, posted previously.
I wasn't planning on buying anything else but a dealer friend said he had a consignment of some amazing coins come in and I had first pick (it pays to have curated relationships). He wasn't lying... arguably the finest known example of the type with a stunning portrait - a transitional tetradrachm of Syracuse minted in 430 BC, depicting Nike and Arethusa.
I strongly suspect these will be my last two of the year, both arrived Christmas Eve

Since I was outbid in the Heritage weekly.....on Christmas Day!....this will likely be my last of the year.
A few grading steps lower than I was looking for, but she caught my eye. With this purchase, my "Birthday-125 years", 1838 type set, is complete. If I ever get off my butt and take some photos, I'll post the entire set here.
My Christmas present this year. I love the color.
I had no intention of anymore buys when I bought this. Purchased on eBay the day they had the 15% off. Got this less than melt. Couldn't pass it up.

thats a beauty.
thats a smasher.
Will be on its way to our host after the holidays. Best cherry-pick of the year for me. Never thought I would find one in the wild...

My last purchase in 2018 was an ASE as a gift for a birth in the family. Unless something pops up in the next few days that I simply must have....
Not likely, but it could happen. No coins for Christmas... However, I must say, I received incredible gifts (both quantity and quality)...I am still overwhelmed... have to just sit among them all for a while...
Cheers, RickO

That is insane

Have posted this before... but my last puschase of 2018
Likely the last for me... but, I am headed to the coast for a few days tomorrow and there's a tiny little cluttered coin shop I like to visit when passing through. I just may find something there for a nice year end cap.

My daughter liked it so, in a to-this-point futile effort to interest her in numismatics, I purchased it. Of course, I also like it.
@SmEagle1795 That coin is simply AMAZING!
My parents gave me these pop outs along with the jewelry box they found at the thrift store.
The years my Dad was a police man he advocated for and supported our local homeless shelter. Retired, he’s still on the board. The Mission has its own thrift store that helps support the homeless shelter and it’s accosiated nursing home and day cares etc. They both volunteer a ton of time at this particular one sorting and valuing items. Looking up and pricing things properly as well as cleaning and repairing things. I taught Dad how to identify and sell scrap. He gets a fair amount! Mom has her own “boutique” she calls it within the store for the antiques and better vintage that come through. Whole houses get donated and it’s part of their job to make sure the better items bring what they should. Its just a good needed place and also kinda fun to go through and when I can say hi and drop things off myself trying to clean up the house. I inevitability come back home with new treasures. So we all started getting a thrift store gift at Christmas and they’re really the coolest most fun ones and my Mom really works hard to make them meaningful.
As far as pop outs go, I have a Indian head cent with an Indian chief pop out and a few lady liberties, but have never seen this stag. The elk piece is new to me. Likely the last coins for me for the year but some if the cooles.
Nice old engraving... Love the folksy work...
Wish I knew the story/history
I am willing to help you un-wrap some

@WildIdea Awesome gifts from your parents!! I love the box and pop-outs as I have a few too.
What wonderful and admirable parents you have. I admire them for all they have done and continue to do.
I bet your Mom has a great boutique.

Thanks! @coinsarefun
I'm def not hurting on the parents department. Married 47 years now. Dad 71 Mom 66. It seems they don't do anything that isn't for someone else or each other. It's almost sickening! I mean, after I get through my day raising my family, my business, employees and clients, maybe a random stranger or two I almost want to just pop and retreat into something private that's purely selfish, and I do, but not them. They never get tired of helping others in every aspect of their lives.
They did transfer their love for older things onto me from the very start. As boomers, they didn't have much and asked for little more than a family and some peace and security, but they loved antiques and had a few mentors early on. In the day, my Dad would refinish furniture for a dealer and in return would get a piece to own. I can still point those out at their house. As a little boy I would either have to wait in the car or walk around antique stores with my hands in my pockets and have to sit patiently all day at an auction for the one item at the end. I grew up in a household full of breakable treasures. I got an eye and a sense of how to care for delicate things early on from them. But they never stepped up and bought anything with any serious money, they didn't have it. I guess they do have some dough now AND the time to do what they want and travel some. My brother and I want them to spend all their money and "leave us a bill".
Last purchase this year (today)

A roll of mixed dollars and five rolls of Canada halves
This is a pretty common date. I have owned several of this date in grades of MS61, 64, 65, and 66 but none were quite what I wanted. I got this one off the bay for a bargain and really like it.

Pistareen from the Newman sale in November, graded AU58. I needed a 1721-dated coin for my Prime Number set, and this also is a required coin for the "World Coins Circulating in Early America" set. Of course, it's in an NGC holder for now, so I can't officially use it yet.

My last purchase for the year is a 1947-S PCGS MS66+FB Roosie.
Later, Paul.
This has got to be the last of the year for me. I just grabbed a 1910-S RPM-1 Lincoln off ebay, This is one of the hardest to find of the CONECA top 100, with only a certified population of 34. 21% complete on this set now.
This was my last coin of the year - a unique bimetallic bronze of Caracalla celebrating victories in Britain:

And my last doo-dad of the year is this 2,000 year old dial face:

What is now proved was once only imagined. - William Blake
My last purchase was way back in January, a 1968 D Kennedy. I spent a whopping $53 on coins this year, and it wasn't like space memorabilia was picking up the slack. Over the 12 years I've been collecting space artifacts, this was my 3rd lowest year of purchases on space memorabilia, and a good chunk of that was framing pictures that I'd purchased in previous years.
I'm not sure if I'm getting glutted with items, or if I just haven't seen any items in 2018 that I just GOTTA' have (at the prices necessary to purchase said items).

Picked two up today. My last addition of the year, Not in a league with all of the above. Good cause and it devastates so many families. I actually like the humble design yet it had limited appeal, and this coin was way overpriced.
This coin will have a very limited collector base. Just one thing. Have you checked the mintage? It is under 11,000. I think the next closest Commemorative Uncirculated Clad half dollar is the 2017 BOYS TOWN CLAD UNC @15,561
OK, few people collect clad halves but an MS 70 piece would be worth holding….maybe(?)
Bought 8 of them from US Mint for my last contest in 2018 ..... honoring Veteran & active duty members
