    Who, me? :)

I had the parking lot kids on ignore. I felt they were clearly mocking the hobby and taking advantage of the folks kindness here who would answer their postings of complete garbage coins.

My list of ignores on this forum used to be robust. Most have exited by means of death by moderator.

I have two flagged at the moment. He’s a jerk that flags just to be flagging and zeroed in on a friend of mine that is a respectful gentlemen. I might add to to the list here shortly if I see anymore hateful remarks come from another certain member.

Yes, I have used on three people and removed it from one.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

I do not purposely ignore anyone but admit I don't read everything posted. I usually read posts that interest me the most.

I have 2 on ignore right now. They are both real tools!

  • divecchiadivecchia Posts: 6,688 ✭✭✭✭✭

No, I've never ignored anyone here or on any other forum. I may have made some over the top replies that got me temporarily jailed, but I don't ignore anyone.

Let me try to help. You may end up banned. That's why it matters.

Additionally, suppose you are giving a lecture to a group and one person on the stage smacks you for no reason at the start of each new sentence and one person in the crowd yells "shut up you creep" every so often. Is it more clear now?

Has anyone ever been banned from getting spurious flags or disagrees?

And the analogy is not even close to accurate. Comparing disagreeing or flagging a post to physical violence is laughable. And it doesn't interrupt or inhibit one's participation like yelling out from the crowd. However, it seems clear that you view disagreeing or flagging as WAY more significant that I do, so we'll just have to agree to disagree.

Does anybody else feel this way? I thought that was what this forum was for?

Dimeman, please keep posting them. This IS what the forum is for. If someone prefers not to look at them, they don't have to open your threads. Most of us will open them though.

    Best, SH

    Will do. ;)

I have opened every single one of your threads. Always do and always will. You can post how you like, it was just a suggestion to condense them into 1-2 threads.

    Later, Paul.

Thanks for your comments! Disagreements are how we learn. I love to read them and some have changed my mind. They have also pointed out my errors and that is a good thing. If you disagree, fine. Be a man and state a reason.

A member who is disagreeing with others for spite or revenge SHOULD BE WARNED. If it continues, they should be banned. That's my opinion so we'll disagree.

There is a difference between flagging a post and flagging EVERY POST. I'll bet you understand the difference. That child should be warned that the mods don't have time for BS. I'll bet one flag in a discussion is enough to get them to look in.

Anyone flagging every single post is cyber bullying. They lack self esteem and enjoy the anonymity of pounding on you and not having to answer to any ramifications for their negative behavior. Its childish but its what makes them feel good, they are having fun at your expense. If they know they are getting a reaction from you, they will increase their negative behavior with you. You could pound them back but is it worth your time and effort? Everyone that comes here often, knows who the flaggers are and I accept them for who they are and how they act. Its no reflection on you.

The fact is nobody really intend to ignore ..... we pick the subject we drawn to because we could not possibly open each & everyone of them due to time constraint (in my case) ;)

I manually ignore a lot of threads that I don't find of interest and the same can be said for a very few contributors. Nothing on automatic.

Washington quarters are my favorite series, so I particularly enjoy and learn from those posts. And I can live vicariously through them a bit and see some quarters/varieties I might never own.

I have not ignored anyone.... on any forum. Some years ago, there were a couple of forums that were so continuously nasty, I just left them....not coin forums. I have narrowed down the forums I participate in to just a few, those I deem the most informative and constructive. On those forums I read all that interest me and comment as appropriate. Cheers, RickO
