Are you planning to acquire any particular gold coin while spot's still hovering on low $1200 ?

Do you have any particular in mind before it ticks back up? Are the recent markets gain provide some easing room to pull the trig?
I am still looking for the right 1915 Pan Pac or Libertas Americanas re-strikes 1 or 2 oz'er.
*these are stock photos to show my current interest BUT SEE THE EXACT ONE _I AM ON a few posts down_

I've always wanted a double eagle and may pick one up while the price is down.
Same here, will probably pick a nice 100 year old $20 eagle in the next few months.
Good luck and please share pictures
I've been buying and flipping double eagles when I get bonus ebay bucks... the cheaper they get, the more tempted I am to hang onto some. Here was my latest flip... any grade ideas? I think I sold it too cheap
Barely over melt

MS63 @jwitten due to some chatters on the wings? I've been so tempted myself....'25, '26, '28...well all of them; but I need to stay focus on my main interest
I still do not own any Gold coins. I know that the premiums get higher as the denominations get smaller, but if I were to buy one it would need to be within a lower price point. I will stick to silver for now, but I hope you are all successful in finding some gems!
Nope. If I buy based on a low spot, it goes lower.
Do you really want me to buy and see gold go to $1100?
I could single-handedly destroy the gold market...
Good luck !!!
Very nice looking coin. Unless you know what you are doing most collectors should buy NGC or PCGS slabbed coins from a reliable source since there are many counterfeits in the marketplace.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

I may get a few proof eagles and buffalos whenever I van find 70's close to melt, along with a few nice common date Saints in 65.
A couple of gold coins to look at would be nice.

Yes, Providence continues to draw me in with their very near melt, shipped prices. I picked up some quarter ounce Canadian wolf, bear, bird stuff that is fun.
Yes, I agree. the idea has occurred to me, have not taken any action as of yet.
Ah yes, the old 'buying the dip' exercise.... Good time if you are stacking...high grade coins will not be affected much at this level...Strangely, many will wait until gold starts to rise again... then some 'fever buying'....Cheers, RickO

The bullion price usually doesn't save me much money for the gold pieces I like, which are usually $5 gold pieces and smaller in AU to low end Unc.
There can be a spill over at times. Years ago when gold bullion got hot, it spilled over to the numismatic gold market, but that seems to be less common today.
With respect to the Pan-Pac $2.50 in the OP ...
I hope you won't buy that one. That mark between Ms. Liberty's face and the medical symbol is significant. When you are selling these coins, dealers get super critical about everty defect. These coins do come nice.
How do you know that this is a dip and gold won’t continue dropping?
I keep waiting for gold to get back down to $400/ounce like it used to be...
as strong a the dollar is now, the dip might be around quite a while
Not yet. I still believe it will test $1,000 in the next year or two.
I'll be hunting for that same Pan Pacific 2½ Dollar gold after you get yours. And after I get the Proof Palladium from the Mint in September.
I already have a max decided in my head for this 2000 re-strikes 64grams
265 / 500
An eBay seller turned down $3600 offer a couple months ago and the similar one sold for $3800.

It is a slimmer chance on HA due to the hefty juice + now HI excise tax be added = 24%
I know the low spot does not affect some including this one but please wish me luck...will you all?
Good luck!
My pockets are stitched on the bottom so my Max is probably SLIM to NONE against high rollers .....
This is part of my learning curve navigating and playing in those big name on line auctions houses so I will have fun no matter
Solid 63 in my opinion, possible 64?

Your heart will be pumping big time as the auction gets going. An addictive feeling that can over take those stitches. You will win if this forum has anything to say about it via good thoughts sent your way
No but I am thinking about selling off some of my AMD stock!
I better FREE myself on any commitment the Aug 14th and let my heart pumping all day long
Gold is too slippery for me...I acquire a piece and I wind up selling it within a short matter if time.

Caduceus, "kuh doo shiss".
Short staves with one snake are referred to as a Rod of Asclepius, which is more historically accurate as a symbol of health and wellness and medicine. The caduceus was more of a sleep spell and death/rebirth kinda deal.
With people throwing money into cryptocurriences, a large amount of money that would otherwise be invested in metals is just.. gone.
That crash is probably one of the few major things that would bring metals back up quickly.
Modern commentative gold at spot or below is good for me especially if it is already PCGS graded

I would love nothing more than to be able to find that special date I’m looking for than will show this dip in the gold price. But the truth of the matter I’m pretty sure it will not affect the price of numismatic pieces until it drops quite a bit more and even then I don’t see it really making any big difference. But I can hope

Thank you, I knew it had a fancy name, but I didn't feel like Googling it, and my spelling is atrocious so I took a shortcut.
Yes, I happen to have a particular type/date in mind.
Yap.....just like the crude...you don't see the lower price at the pump right away BUT they sure do up it on a slight uptick
Rocket up parachute down.
Hoard the keys.
Coin, no but I have been looking at pamp.

What do you mean by 'pamp' ?
Pamp Suisse is a major producer of silver and gold bars.

Would love to find a nice $10 Indian with a clean cheek for type. Been looking on and off for years.
