The early U.S. type coins from 1792 to 1807. They have been my favorites since the early 1970s.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
Draped Bust.....anything. The common date Half Dollars are still (relatively) inexpensive in low grade....and still look good to me. I can't participate to the level I would LIKE to, but I can't pass them up when they pop up....
I'm trying to figure that out actually. In the past I have collected:
Lincoln Cents
Buffalo Nickels
War time Jefferson Nickels
Mercury Dimes
Roosevelt Dimes
Walking Liberty Half Dollars
Morgan Dollars
Peace Dollars
Eisenhower Dollars
Sacagawea Dollars and
Modern Commems.
Now that I am "starting over", I would really like to pick 1 or 2 and stay focused on just those. We'll see! Lol
My favorite would be the $5 Gold Indian.....of course, I also love CC Morgans, Buffs, Walkers and Mercs.....I guess I am just a coin junkie.... Cheers, RickO
However, if I were forced to pick one, it would probably be middle date large cents. They are large (for a cent at least), they are available, and they are affordable.
Collector of Large Cents, US Type, and modern pocket change.

I cherry-picked this 1853/4 25C last year and sold it for an offer I could not refuse.

It's hard to pick a favorite, but gold dollars and Indian gold have had my interest lately.

Walkerfan's the name and Walkers are my game.
I especially like the early dates from 1916 through 1933 as they are rare both conditionally and absolutely.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

I like trade dollars because they have a fascinating world history and were at the end of the sort of golden age of early American coinage.
11.5$ Southern Dollars, The little “Big Easy” set
I would have to say Mercury Dimes followed by Barber Dimes and Bust Dimes.
And my latest interest Washington Quarters.
