It sometime the most random thread that gets the most responses.

But some of the longest running everyone knows. The Barber, the D. Carr, the CoinStar.. etc....

I would say new mint offerings, controversial CAC threads, deals-gone sideways threads, mafia counterfeit operation threads, and threads pertaining to government seizure of quasi-legitimate coins.

Picture posts seem to live forever, popping up days or weeks after they dropped down the list.

We all love show & tell. :)

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

Discussions of the hardness of the planchets for hammered coinage?

386 replies to a simple question usually means controversy going on. Good for a warm popcorn and glass of cold milk.

CAC threads and gossipy "somebody got cheated" threads.

    But mostly CAC threads.

Any giveaways, especially if they involve double eagles.

    Contests is a great answer!

Look how long the EU Coin Set thread lasted....that went on forever, members would post just to break posting records with that one! So you need a thread that sparks controversy or follows a collecting pattern.

    Photos are always a draw.

    Jokes or funny collecting stories.

    Perhaps questionnaires like this one....hmmmmm

Ditto for me....I stopped doing show reports as it became apparent my observations, market commentary, and NEWPS weren't interesting enough for the masses.

I do, however, always try and take a moment to thank those that take the time to post a reasonably detailed show report.

I like show reports and 'What makes coin dealers drink' threads.... However, educational threads, particularly those with pictures are my favorites. Cheers, RickO

This is pretty general, but 1) things that most members have strong opinions about, or 2) things that most members feel they can chime in on with a reasonable unique response.

Need the following OBW rolls to complete my 46-64 Roosevelt roll set:
    1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S.
Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!

Agree that political threads receive the most attention and participation. After more than eight years of identity politics this country is more divided than at any time since the Vietnam War.
