62 money.
Then what would a real 62 be worth? The same?

I sat in the auction room for the last two sales of this coin. Not a big fan of this coin, overgraded (FWIW) and ugly. I'll go $2.6 mil+.They should regrade it AU50 so it can get some sympathy votes.
And I always get a chuckle when they list provenances for the original 1804 $1s. There is no proof or documentation whatsoever...none...nada...zilcho...zero... that the PR68 specimen is from the Sultan of Muscat presentation set.
Some refer to overgraded slabs as Coffins. I like to think of them as Happy Coins.
As the OP previously stated, every one is known. If it's been doctored, hairlined (Childs), pin-scratched (KOS), pedigree-punched, dipped or otherwise mishandled, that has already been factored into the equation.
If you see a CAC sticker on an 1804 $1 it's a downgrade or a discovery coin and the press release will also explain the next week's schedule for the Rapture

I never have understood the fascination with this coin. To me it is not real. It was minted in 1834 for special sets...not 1804.
But that's just me. I just don't like fake dates on coins.
How are you with the bicentennial quarter and half?
I don't collect those, but that is a different situation isn't it. It would be like minting those in 2006.
Is it different? They struck 1976 dated coins in 1975...which by your definition you don’t like. Of course, they also struck 1803 dated dollars in 1804 according to Mint records.
The coin is what it is - a diplomatic presentation coin struck with the last authorized date a dollar could have by law. Legal tender? Yup

For all we know, 1913 V-nix were made in 1914....
Originals have profound historical significance. Restrikes are frauds, The fraud worked, but to some those special sets, not fraudulently issued, are emblematic of this country's initial emergence as a world trading power

$4mil even....because I don't want to spend more time being wrong than that....
(Kind of disappointed this isn't a give-away thread....)
More. A CAC stickered 62 would definitely bring a premium
They’re all overgraded. I’m the first to admit that the one I own is a 63+/64-

I would much rather have a 1913 Liberty Nickel or a 1894-S Barber Dime.....But can't afford either one!
I personally would do that. All I have to do is get the rock and the hard place to agree.

Ticks and lines in the right obverse field. Probably pleasing as a 64 but not an A coin at that grade

I was referring to the tooling
That coin is pleasing and an A coin as a 65. Sometimes it just doesn’t matter what the plastic says
