According to the initial press release, the answer would be no. However, in the vast bureaucratic miasma that we call government, someone may not have read the memo, someone does not care and put/left it on the dies, someone wants a few 'errors' to round out their bank account or someone just changed their mind. Roll the proverbial dice... Cheers, RickO

Excellent point, Ricko. Perhaps a new major error coin to look for in circulation?

Never did see a P mm on a 2017 in circulation all year
I received one in circulation during the year, but then again I don't look at every Lincoln cent I receive. One of the guys at my local club gave me one when they were first issued.

I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

I would rather it was there. More interesting to me that way. I found my first 2017 P around March last year if my memory is correct. I didn't know it was coming, I was so out of the loop. It was quite a surprise to me.
I'm still waiting to get my first 2018 coin in change. I'm also still getting tons of 2017-P cents, from the merchants that don't round to the nearest nickel when they give me change.
This pas weekend, I had about 700 cents picked through, and about 400 more, when I accidentally mixed the two. So, I started over.

Maybe this is "random letter year" and some other letter will be put on the cent. OR maybe they will be personalized with your initials...?

If they did it on cents, then the Mint could undercut the market for replacement Scrabble tiles, and they'd fit perfectly on the board.

Will that include the new whipper-snapper letters J, U, and W ?

Yes. They'll be the last to be issued, though. Should additional letters be added to the alphabet, (ñ or þ, for example), their respective coins will be added to the end of the series, and Dansco will have to issue an additional album page. The current legislation specifically states that digraphs will not be part of this series.
But -- what about Thorn þ and Eth Ð or maybe Eng η ?
" The current legislation specifically states that digraphs will not be part of this series." and what about bigraphs, biceps, binaries and bicycles ? Are they prohibited, too?
I'm hoping for 2018-P and rare 2018 no P varieties.

It was supposed to be a one year thing for the Cent. No, I'm in Denverland and haven't seen any in change at all.
With the Mint.....................you never know!
Pete
Here in NY the 17-P cent are all over the place. I found hundreds of them. I don't even keep them anymore.
If a few are made in error they can be called "unmissing mint mark" or "missing blank".
I could see that being done "accidentally" to spark collector interest.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
I never have seen any in circulation either. I do have one on my uncirculated sets tho'.

In Tulsa, just found my 1st and only one two weeks ago.
Unusual to see the "P" on the cent.
Will there be any 2018 Cents ?...we'll see.

We had them by the box at banks here for quite a while this year. I didn't even tuck a roll or two away as I usually do.

IDK but I know they had a 2017 p cent last year. It is a possibility.
I LOVE old coins.

I search a lot of rolls and found less than a dozen.
I am in Illinois.
A "P" has always been on the Lincoln cent: "pluribus."
I found two 2017 P in San Francisco. Odd.
Greek letters would be fun. Maybe an Omega mintmark?
Lance.
In good condition?
Collectorilly speaking......WE DO.
From what I understand the "P" mintmark was a one year thing (2017 only)

Look for a 2018 'P' error.
Ahhhh....so maybe they will used " þ " instead of "P" by mistake.... Wow...great to anticipate the errors.
<< Will the 2018 lincoln cent have the P on them? >>
Certainly those inadvertently (or advertently) ending up in urinals will...

Here I was joking about this, and behold, the Royal Mint is going to do this with their 10p coins .
