Before you start pointing fingers, educate yourself. During a government shutdown, no one gets paid. At the end of the shutdown, all those who were deemed essential and worked through the shutdown (military included) will be paid retroactively. The rest of us will not. This is not the first time this has happened and it won't be the last.
Uninformed and knee-jerk comments, like yours, do nothing but perpetuate the proliferation rumor and innuendo.

Sorry to hear this news. My son in law just returned stateside Saturday after 4.5 months serving as an officer for the USAF in Afghanistan. My daughter called today concerned they will not be getting a paycheck. He missed out being with his newborn son, Thanksgiving,Christmas and New Years and being here for my wife whom had a very serious surgery. We all know it’s his duty, but to receive no paycheck in return for your services and sacrifices to this country is just not right all due to beuricratic stubbornness and ineptness at it’s greatness.. I hope my family members get paid soon.

Regardless of what your politics are, this shutdown is a sad commentary on the state of our dysfunctional government. Every politician should be held accountable for this debacle. The fault for this lies squarely with our elected officials. While they are required to pass a budget in September for the new fiscal year, this hasn't happened in decades. And all of our elected officials are happy to kick the can down the road and point their gnarled and greedy little fingers at each other rather than knuckle under and do their job. They haven't a single thought for how it will affect hard-working Americans and the world view of our great country.
