In my opinion the mint has hit a home run with this design in ultra high relief. I find them extremely attractive.

I'm considering the silver UHR. The gold UHR would be a treat.
I'm glad they put together an all-star cast to make this including:
- Engraving by John Mercanti, retired U.S. Mint Chief Engraver
- Authorization by St. Gaudens National Historic Site
Since this is issued by a National Historic Site, it looks like this could be considered an official US government issue.

I like the Roman numerals! I like that it's a St. Gaudens' design. I don't like Liberties' wings, they seem lopsided. I've also seen this at govmint.com but it's also a pass for me.

Looks like she had a shield in her left hand, and the date up top (instead of LIBERTY).

The GovMint rendition is similar to what ASG had previously envisioned for the double eagle. I travel to the ASGNHS quite often and have taken thousands of images of the works on display. Something I typically take images of is the handwritten notes of ASG as my daughters are always amazed at how my handwriting and sketches are so similar to the style of ASG. Here are images of an early plaster mock-up of the double eagle with notes-

I've considered doing some sort of over-strike or other medal based on this (winged standing Liberty design). One reason I haven't is because it has already been done by a couple different entities, as shown in this thread. But neither have quite done it justice, however. I would do it like the original sketch with the shield instead of the olive branch because I always thought the one awkward aspect of the St Gaudens double eagle design was the two arms both holding things up, especially the arm on the right with the olive branch.

It is interesting the note the little headdress on Ms. Liberty which fortunately disappeared on the final design. That was per Theodore Roosevelt’s wishes that a headdress be included in the designs.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. I was looking at pictures of these again the other day. The marketing materials and the Coin World article indicate that the GovMint version was sculpted by former US Mint Chief Engraver John Mercanti. But looking at the photo (below) this sculpting just doesn't look like it meets Mercanti standards (especially Liberty's body), so I have my doubts about who actually sculpted it.
I think I like the Liberia version better, although neither one really captures what the Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle would have been like if the wings were retained.
