Mine is about 15% of my collections value, a few most between 5-8% and then a big long tail in the 1-2%

That's a moving target for me.
I have a comfort level that's hard to pass on any one coin, but over the years I've been adding so the % is less all the time.
Last year my answer would have been between 10-20. Now it's slightly over 5%.

My best coin represents slightly less that 2% of the value of my entire collection, but I have six coins of that type that are almost the same. All housed in PCGS slabs, to give me reassurance about authenticity.

I’m in the less than 5% category.
A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.
A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.
Math is too complicated for me - sorry.
A followup question: what coin in your collection do you look at the most? Is it your most expensive?
