Post a coin you knew you would buy the second you saw it

I don't collect anything even remotely close to this. It was at the top of my first ebay search of the day and I had to have it.

Less than $100. One of the prettiest in my Buff 5c date set. PCGS MS64.

I think I may have owned your avatar at one time.

This is one of the most amazingly beautiful toned coins in my collection - and it's the very popular overdate 1894/1894! I knew I wanted to add it to my collection the moment I saw it!

    Wow! That is electric!

I hope there is room in this thread for something from the darkside. I collect matte proofs and 20th Century German Empire. This coin is the only place they fully intersect. (There are two issues where the obverse is matte finish and the reverse is brilliant.)

    Rosa Americana 2 pence.

And since it was on the CRO Early Bird, I had to buy it the second I saw it.

I can't post pictures, but I will buy the last two Classic Head $2.50 coinsi need in AU-58 to MS-62, PCGS graded, not cleaned and "Coin Facts" as a price base. I have been looking for over a year.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

My avatar here (and elsewhere). Coin appears to be a bronze, with ocean green and blue toning. An un-attributed Accent Hair proof. Had to have this one.

I was surprised it didn't gold bean.

That's a tough question really...I guess one of my most recent that I'm still pleased about is this 1969-D MS64PL Kennedy I nabbed for $90. Concerning rarity for this year vs the 1970-D; there are only 8 graded at MS64 for '69-D, and 70 at MS64 for the 1970-D. So, being a PL purveyor and enthusiast, I was quite pleased!

Nice! I believe I was the underbidder on this one. Glad you got it.

Super sweet Kennedy, you'd have to be a modern hater not to like that.

The exact second. Well, other than how many seconds it took to make the phone call. :)

Years ago I saw the coin pictured below sitting in an OGP SMS set at a coin show. It sang to me and I immediately bought the set for the cost of a hot dog (with mustard and relish) and a soft drink at the coin show concession stand.
